Babble Box - A Review and Giveaway

You would think that with six kids, I would have plenty of 'stuff' by now for my youngest child right? Well yes and no is my answer here.
One thing that younger siblings sometimes miss out on, is the pleasure of experiencing the ownership of new things, mainly because the older kids have already worn in the household shared stuff along the way.
Being the youngest child in any family can have some real bottom-scraping moments because of this fact. There's definitely a fight to establish some personal identity and notable worth there. (I was a youngest, believe me I know!)
Imagine the special identity-boosting joy of receiving a parcel of stuff by post, individually addressed to your child and expertly selected to bring happiness to just him or her - oh yes!

I was sent a fantastic box of surprises for my youngest Miss to explore thanks to the generosity of Babble Box. (Realistically speaking, Babble Box is not specifically for a youngest child at all but it was a cute angle to begin this review with!)

Babble Box is an Australian company who provide a monthly subscription parcel service specifically designed for children aged from birth to 4 years of age. Subscriptions are tailored to your chosen child's gender and age level. Babble Box can grow with your child.

Each monthly parcel is themed. The parcel featured in this review was sent to me in the height of Summer and is called the 'Back To School Box.' (Okay, so it took me a little while to get to it here on the blog and the good people at Babble Box were so busy with orders that they barely noticed anyway :D...)
Not to worry - Celeste has jumped straight into it on catch up duty!

So what's inside and what did we think?

Our Babble Box arrived as a big, glossy box spilling over with treats aimed at my girl baby from the Babble Box website's 1-2 year olds category.
There is so much here and all of it quality brand labels. In any given month, recipients can expect to receive 4-6 full sized, brand name items which have been carefully considered and hand selected for your child.

First up, I laid my eyes upon the big Skip Hop Zoo Lunchie insulated bag.
How did you guys know?
This is exactly what I had been needing to keep Celeste's lunches in when we are out and about. I already have another branded lunch bag for her but it is so fat and bulky that it does not fit in my nappy bag without major crush factor. This beautiful Skip Hop one is sleek and fine and Celeste is pretty impressed with it too. (Extra points on account that it has a face you see.) It fits inside my nappy bag like a standard inclusion too.
The adorable Skip Hop lunchie is zippered and handles both warm and cool foods or drinks in style and retails for $24.95 in stores.

No gift parcel for a baby should be missing a board book. Babies just love board books and this little padded Yum Yum book by Parragon Books was a very exciting little plaything for my banana obsessed baby to find. A nice little treat featuring many of baby's first food-related words and images to set them on a babbling course forever-more. Soft and squishy to hold and worth $6.95 in book stores.

For girls, this Summer box featured a gorgeous Intex Swim Tropical Shade. A totally stunning little shaded floatie for a pool or bathtub. Next Summer I will be popping my baby girl, all excited and slippery, into her own little floating paradise. I just know she will love this! This fun item retails at $7.95 and I can't wait for her to use it.

There will be so much fun to be had with this Fred brand Bites and Pieces Puzzling Crust Cutter. I have always wanted one of these and I just know that Celeste will love eating sandwiches and toast presented in interesting shapes. I know kids really enjoy fun looking food and I have never got around to buying anything like it so I am pretty happy to have one in the kitchen tools drawer now. I would say this will get well-used at our house. (RRP $9.95.)

To top it all off, Celeste's box delivery had a yummy Banana Blueberry with Yoghurt food pouch from Rafferty's Garden to slurp on while she explored.

Babble Box is a great fun idea. I like that the contents of each month's parcel are a surprise and that this special delivery can bring so much fun and entertainment on an otherwise ordinary day. Kids love parcels! I also appreciate that the items are so useful too. Babble Boxes contain items that parents would choose for fun and practicality. You can see some examples of previous Babble Box deliveries on their website here.
Subscriptions benefit select charities too with a percentage of every Babble Box sold being donated to a wonderful children's charity.
You can choose from a variety of subscription packages starting from $99.95 for a 3 month subscription to $189.95 for 6 months and a 12 month service for $349.95. These would make an excellent gift for a new baby, child's birthday or even Christmas present in the birth to 4 years age group. (It certainly takes the pain out of choosing your own gifts.)

Babble Box is a lovely way for Celeste to accumulate some exciting new books, toys, tastes and baby equipment that hasn't been pre-loved by her siblings already. Everything is hers and hers alone and she will get so much pleasure from her little stash. The value of the boxes in the subscription packages works out at roughly $33 per month and if you do the sums here you will see the inclusions add up to considerably more than that. Postage is free and the price of the boxes shrinks with the greater the duration of the subscription chosen. We love the Babble Box idea and I think this is a fantastic gift for any child to receive.
Babble Box is a great way for parents to replenish or replace existing items which they may already have from older children or discover new products that were unknown to them. For new Mums and experienced Mums, this is a fab opportunity to stock up and a service I would highly recommend.

  41. I really love the Fred brand Bites and Pieces Puzzling Crust Cutter. Our Miss 3 insists on having all sorts of shapes for her sandwiches. Sick and tired of the cookie cutter shapes I have even reverted to washing up the few Play Doh shapes that we have and using them. What I love about this one is that you use all the bread. Our little Miss refuses to eat any of the offcuts. And she loves puzzles, so this would be a great play activity before eating.
