Introducing Luna Blu Bags - The 'Megan' in Windsor Bag Review and Giveaway

I have this thing for bags. I really cannot have enough of them. Many of us females are the same are we not? (If not bags then the next best thing - shoes, and even both if you're really style-hunter savvy.)
In my spare time, I am always searching for bags online, visually caressing them and on occasion, buying them on sale, sometimes giving them as gifts and (surprise), sometimes 'self-receiving' them as gifts myself for no particular occasion at all. (Whether endorsed by the Other Half or not!)
Unsurprisingly, my go-to gift idea for myself when Mother's Day, my Birthday or Christmas Day rolls around - you guessed it - A new bag! No-one around here ever needs suggestions for gift ideas for me or questions my choice!
Bags and this Mumma go hand in hand (Or I should say - strap in hand). It's a passion that's here to stay and is showing no signs of going anywhere fast. I covet the whole bag thing far too heartily to ever let this intense relationship slip.

It was on one of my fantastic regular internet bag-hunting safaris that I came across the gorgeous Luna Blu website and met with their stunning range and designs. Hello new bag and welcome to my life:

Luna Blu is an Australian owned company that specialise in oil cloth, vintage-inspired bags. There are some truly stunning styles to choose from and there are just as many different types of bags available to cover the needs of most people both large and small.
The good people at Luna Blu sent me the stunning and very popular Megan bag in their latest style - the Windsor print to road test here on the blog and from the moment she arrived in my hands, it was love at first sight.
Though not essentially a nappy bag, the Megan has gained quite a reputation as a fantastic change bag in the Mummy market and for good reason. Not only is this bag super-pretty, but she has the versatility Mums crave in a bag fit for baby and child care purposes and without the ouchy price tag of many other specialised labels.

Being a bag crafted of oil-cloth (coated canvas), makes caring for this bag a cinch. Think wipe-able surface exterior and hardy, so capable of handling the tough life of Mums everywhere. Spills and rain just wipe straight off and upkeep is simple with a quick maintenance wipe every so often to preserve her prettiness and keep it looking new.
The Megan has strong woven canvas straps and genuine leather trimmings to add to her appeal. There's also a removable long strap for over the shoulder use and makes it perfect for draping over a pram.

Megan is generously sized and softly structured. This is a bag that can really expand too.
I decided to make my Luna Blu bag an everyday bag in my road test. I have a dedicated nappy bag which sits by baby's change table and is always packed and ready to go out for daytrips. I do carry another everyday bag though which is a cross between a regular handbag and a change bag and this is where I put the Megan to the test.

Just some of the everyday goodies I tote about in my Megan bag are listed. There are more items in here that I couldn't fit on my image: Celeste's snacks and drink bottle, toys, spare clothing and my Suppori baby sling to name an important few.
Not only did this bag expand to cope with my frazzled life, but it did so elegantly. I was still able to zip up her topmost closure and carry it comfortably too. Being canvas, this bag is a quality light-weight so I wasn't falling over while bearing my bag's contents. The two over the shoulder handles are roomy and comfortable and the bag sits neatly beneath my arm even when full. There is a good flat base on the bag making it capable of standing upright on its own too.

This is definitely a bag able to cope with the demands of Motherhood. There are plenty of pockets to keep everything organised in her satin-lined interior too. There's the regular open pockets for your tech as well as a central zippered compartment to store important items and another zipper in the side wall for smaller personals. The exterior rear wall has a zippered compartment too and is perfect for stowing a wallet or as an additional phone pocket (or baby snack compartment.)

And that design - so pretty! The Windsor is a beautiful floral on an egg-shell white background. (It was quite hard to photograph as it seems to change considerably in different light.) It is so very feminine and really attractive as a bag for a baby girl to hang with! There are plenty of beautiful pattern choices and bag styles on the Luna Blu website too so be sure to check them out.
I love the Megan and I am in love with the Windsor print! So English country and oozing so much timeless style.
There are many uses for this large tote. In addition to its example as a baby bag / everyday bag here, consider it as a perfect choice for the gym, a business bag (easy to fit a laptop in here), a bag for your child to use at day care, a craft bag, shopping bag, kinder bag, travel / overnighter / cabin bag, school or study bag. (Dimensions:46x32x15cm.)

This would make a fantastic and affordable gift too with a very reasonable price of just $70, it's clear why it is such a popular choice on the Luna Blu website.
Luna Blu is owned and operated by two friends, Loren and Levern, who founded their business on their passion for beautiful things. There are so many stunning styles of bags to choose from and beautiful patterns on their Luna Blu website. Other excellent incentives to shop include free shipping on orders over $100, free gift wrapping and gift vouchers for the undecided.
I am in love with my new bag and give it a huge thumbs up for practicality, beauty and versatility.

  3. I am a total bag addict. Hubby has been known to catch me eyeing off bags in David jones and call out "step away from the bags" in a policeman like voice. Not a shoe girl, but could easily buy hundreds of bags a year if I was mega rich. I would use this for myself for me time outings and throw in a sketchbook and watercolours.
