Globber Scooters Review and WIN a Globber Scooter for Summer Holiday Fun! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Summer means kids are home all over Australia for six great weeks of holiday fun. It's the time of year for leisurely days and plenty of active opportunities spent outdoors no matter what your children's ages. Kids will be everywhere the sun is shining this summer. Pray there's plenty of it!

With all that outdoor fun on bikes, scooters and go carts, it can be a bit of a battle keeping all the age ranges in this household happy. While the bigger kids in this home have bike riding skills and can zoom-off happily to the horizon, it's been a bit tricky until now, to keep the 'I want to keep up' toddler content with being left in the shadows!

The frustration in this age group is a stage all parents of multi-age siblings face with their youngest babes, but we've conquered it nicely with thanks to the newest addition to our home - a Globber scooter.

Making Kids' Lunches Healthy and Fast Plus WIN With Uncle Tobys!

This post is brought to you in collaboration with Uncle Tobys.
The battle of the lunchbox - do you fight it at your home too?
Each weekday, like millions of other mamas across Australia, I am up at the crack of dawn preparing healthy lunchboxes for my kids prior to school. I carefully vary my additions every day and try keep it all simple and appealing. There's always a wholegrain sandwich filled with meat or cheese. Then there's a piece of fruit, either whole or chopped in a container to entice my not-so-very-adventurous eaters. Lastly, I pack something home-baked and wholesome; some yummy cookies or a slice of cake with 'added benefits.' (AKA fruit, vegetables or nuts.) Plus a muesli bar.

Tiger Tribe Toys Review and A GIANT Tiger Tribe Toys Christmas Giveaway! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

It is with so much excitement that Six Little Hearts welcomes Tiger Tribe back to this space! It's been a full twelve months since we've had the pleasure of introducing this wonderful children's brand of educational and beautiful playthings for children, to our readers.

Long-time followers may remember our first Christmas mega-toy giveaway we held here and the reviews of some truly delightful toys. Well, trust me, those playthings we featured long ago, have been loved and loved again and are definitely some of my children's favourite things to this day (and counting).

It's so easy to write about this brand of stunning children's items. Tiger Tribe's wares embody every element parents seek in quality toys for children, and for the kids, this line are the bee's knees. (Or the tiger's stripes?)

How DO You Sell a House?

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with RateMyAgent.

You all know we're planning on selling our home as I've been banging on about it here for some time now. A little longer than expected too. We're still getting there, bit by painfully-slow-bit. If my kids were a little tidier and more helpful, then perhaps we would be much closer to the next big step; the official enlisting of an agent to manage the sale.

Buying a home seemed way easier in hindsight, than the selling of one. We are rather shocked to have discovered this too. I guess we'd never thought about this next step, believing that this major purchase would be our dwelling for decades initially. It was not to be, however. It's just not for us this location.

Nestlé Healthy Active Kids Encouraging Little Chefs and WIN!...

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Nestlé.

Do you have little kitchen helpers in your home?

My kids are very familiar with our kitchen. When they're not in there browsing the pantry or fridge for snacks, they're hanging about while I cook, squawking at me with ceaseless requests for spoon-licking and dish-licking cleaning opportunities. While there are loads of distractions to myself, I have to say I enjoy their company!

It's great to have the kids hanging about when there's something fun being baked or prepared in the kitchen. Despite the noise and mess of young helpers, it's a fantastic educational experience, don't you think, to rope in the kids when you're preparing a meal or a treat - no matter how insignificant.

Memories are made during these precious everyday moments, for everyone.

LeapFrog Epic Review and Win a LeapFrog Epic Worth $199 For Your Child! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

I can't tell you how happy my nine year old is at the moment. He's barely looked up since his new LeapFrog Epic tablet for kids arrived in his hands. Trust me, he's too excited to spare me a minute to elaborate on how good that feels. We'll let the pictures do the talking on that subject!

Let's just agree that he's a very, very excited lad and thrilled to finally have his mitts wrapped around a LeapFrog tablet of his very own. It's a big bonus that it's the latest version too.

Child.com.au Australia's Education Superstore Review

If you've ever walked into the bright happy space within the walls of any kindergarten, then you'll understand the simple joy the charm and appeal of educational toys can bring.

In years past I have loved dropping my kids off to kinder and not just because I'd be free of them for a few hours! More, the thrill of the opportunity to watch my preschool-aged child engage with the enticing educational playthings is what would motivate me to linger a bit longer before departing. Happy memories are made of this kind of thing for children and parents alike.

Garage Games...

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Personality Garage Doors.

People are generally curious when you've a large family. There are so many questions directed at us wherever we venture, about things such as our professions, the cars we drive and our home. Namely - how do we fit in to all of it?!

With six kids in our family, you can well-imagine how cramped our standard three-bedroom home must be. We've four boys in one room together, our teenage daughter in her own room and the toddler sharing our space indefinitely in the master bedroom.

JORD Wood Watches Review #SLHFeaturedThursdays

In a modern world filled with gadgets and gizmos to help us get by, how refreshing is it to return to the simple and elegant pleasures, such as those a traditional watch can bring?

Our mobile phones and latest 'smart-watches,' may provide us with endless information at a glance in addition to telling us the time of day, but there's no beating the beauty and class of the real thing - a time-piece to wear that makes a statement without all those electronic bells and whistles.

JORD recently and invited me to explore their beautiful range of wood watches. I can't tell you how excited I was to discover these stunning timepieces. I had heard of the JORD brand before but I'd never explored their website, which has a lust-worthy collection of fashion watches. (Oh go-ahead and check it out here, but pop right back okay!)

A Seasoned Parent? Wading Through the Seasons of Childhood... and Flailing!

I've just finished a marathon two hour session of cleaning in my boys' room.

The four of them, aged 7 to 13, share a room together. They've two sets of bunk beds and for the most part, they're a happy lot sharing this space. My sons get along well despite the age ranges and enjoy gaming together, Lego and other kid-stuff in their bedroom.

Anyway, I got to thinking while I was engrossed in the epic task of cleaning their mutual space, how my rules don't seem to apply anymore, when it comes to my growing kids.

As I poked about their bedroom (which was hideously littered with clothing, lolly wrappers, lollipop sticks and an array of food items which they've at some point in time, smuggled into their space), it became apparent to me, that I am no longer an effective influence over my kids on the discipline front.

Coconut Biscuits - Simple, Quick and Delicious Home Baking

Everyone loves a good coconut biscuit don't they? They're dead-easy to make, require little preparation and they take around three tiny minutes to whip up the dough. The taste? (After all that hard work!) Amazing!

I have been baking plenty of these lately. In the lead-up to Christmas there's just so many events and functions happening at every turn around our busy family. There's little time left to shop and get organised. Certainly there's no time for bigger, more involved bake-offs.

Kids enjoy eating these delicious little gems and they're also a great recipe for children to conquer in the kitchen. No hard mixing, no difficult ingredients and perfect results every time. They're capable of instilling a sense of baking pride in the very youngest of family members. Make sure you grab a kiddo or three when you make these!

Love to Dream Nuzzlin Sleep Bag Review and Win One of Three Sleeping Bags for Kids! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

We seem to have become experts on baby sleeping bags of late - we've been fortunate enough to review a few of them here in as many months. Not surprisingly, my youngest is becoming a very fussy Miss when it comes to settling in the evenings now. She's after a different sleeping bag every night, making choices based on her favourite colour, texture and pattern! It's part of the nightly ritual now and kind of cute, so I let her indulge her whims. Anything for a good night's sleep for all!

VTech Little Love Baby Peek-a-Boo Review #SLHFeaturedThursdays

After four boys in a row, you can well imagine that these days, I adore watching my youngest girl play with a doll! I loved watching my eldest daughter play mummy to her babies back when she was a toddler and second time around, it's just as special to this mum of six.

Witnessing a young child play parent is so wonderfully sweet and I too, can still remember the joy of being a mum to my own dolls during childhood. Little imaginations run-rife with some beautiful stories set in various scenarios and are enacted with lots of love and care. It's the magic of childhood all over again for me and one of those things that makes parenting so rewarding.

The Light in Our Lives...

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Urban Lighting.

When we first inspected our current home prior to purchasing it, we were blown away by the huge windows on the upper story. These windows upstairs are literally floor to ceiling, take up most of the wall space as well as framing spectacular views. We bought our home in part, based on the bright, scenic perfection of it all.

It's such a beautiful place to be when you are in a room filled with natural light. Even today the upstairs area of our home remains one of my favourite places to dwell and I love to take photos of my family in these rooms. Thank goodness I have great interior lighting to take these precious family photos in, for we must have been blinded by love at the point of sale:

Myer Giftorium Melbourne Grand Opening...

Myer Melbourne is synonymous with Christmas for so many Victorians. This leading department store is close to the heart of most and is usually first to spring to mind at the suggestion of all things Christmas. It wouldn't be off the mark to say Myer is the place to go at this time of year for shopping, December festivities and family excitement. It's a given - and a proven.

While Myer is undoubtedly known for its annual themed and animated Christmas window displays which have delighted Australian families for six decades, this famous department store is also gaining a reputation for its one-stop-Christmas store - the Giftorium.

IMK Pro Colour Toaster Review and a Cointreau Marmalade Recipe to Try

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Nuffnang and IMK.

Our toaster is, without contest, the busiest appliance in our over-filled household. Daily I witness the kids climbing on our kitchen bench at least twice each, stuffing our existing four-slice, Italian masterpiece of a toaster with their fill of bready snacks. (More on that one in a minute.)

Believe it or not, there's often a queue for this appliance with 6 kids in the house (and a toast-obsessed husband), so you can well imagine I was more than willing to take on a toaster review here when the call came - because I'm yet to come across a 6 slice domestic toaster. (Which incidentally, would really cover our needs!)

House Hunting - To Buy? To Rent? Or Invest?

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Homesales.

If you're a regular reader here, you'll know all about our intention to move home. It's been on the cards forever now and taking just as long.

We've been working hard at throwing away, cleaning up, packing possessions and dreaming about our new home - wherever and whenever that might become a reality in the days ahead.

The kids are excited in anticipation of what may eventuate and throwing in their individual expectations for a new abode - they all want their own bedrooms, a large level yard for bike-riding and skateboarding and lots of garden foliage for hiding in and climbing trees. Plus of course, a new and larger trampoline to sit at its centre. (Ours has become weather beaten and aged and is well overdue for replacement.)

Hivita Vitamins - An Everyday Range for Everybody Plus a Reader Discount Offer

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Digital Parents and Hivita.

Ever since I can remember, I have taken vitamins to supplement my diet and boost my immunity. My own mother was obsessed with the health-giving benefits of a daily dose of multivitamins and the early ingrained habit has remained, only it's now myself who actively encourages the whole family to not only eat well, but to support their diet with a few little helpful additions.

We were introduced to the great range of vitamins by Australian made and owned Hivita very recently and they've a large selection of beneficial supplements to boost both your own health and that of your family's.

Bosch Hydronic Heating and Other Pipe Dreams...

Hydronic Heating is a method of heating utilising heated water to distribute warmth throughout a building. It offers superior comfort, operational efficiency and silent operation and is also known to minimise the negative effects to allergy sufferers caused by circulation of airborne particles, such as pollen or dust, that occur in ducted heating systems.

Many of you will already know of our intention to move home. I wrote this post only recently on our intended house sale and relocation, when and if only we could get the motivation going.

Well things are pretty much sitting in the same place still although we continue to chip away at it little by little. Cupboards are slowly de-cluttering, items are listed for sale and we pick and scratch at the piles of this and that while managing the daily demands of our busy family. It's whatever we can manage at this stage and it's moving at a snail's pace but it is happening.

Our garage shows the biggest signs of our progress - it empties somewhat and then refills just as quickly as the tides of clutter come and go. We are going to get there yet!

Mormon Spiced Cake Recipe (Dairy Allergy Friendly)

I'm not entirely sure where I picked up this recipe on my travels. I do know it was somewhere in Utah in the United States and quite some years ago now. For those not in the know, Utah is home of the Mormons and it's a fascinating place to visit - not just to check out its interesting history but to see the gorgeous scenery in this beautiful State. If you're ever heading to the States - add Utah to your to-do list for some amazing national parks, especially beautiful under snow with crystal blue skies!
This Mormon Spiced Cake recipe has been a favourite in our home for a very long time. It's an easy cake to make and bake and it is perfect for sufferers of dairy allergies. The original recipe has no dairy foods whatsoever however I have included the measurements for the dairy version here too in case this is not relevant to you.

Closer to Nature Express and Go Complete Breast Milk Starter Set Review and Giveaway #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Just the other day I calculated just how many years of my life I have been breastfeeding my six children in total and I came up with an impressive five and a half years! That's a significant amount of time to do anything.

Most of that breastfeeding period was so enjoyable but I'd be lying outright if I said there were no hurdles whatsoever. Trust me, there were plenty! Some issues we overcame together with time and stubborn persistence on my own part and others sadly ended the experience abruptly.

Overall, I am deeply content to know that each of my babies were fed the way nature intended, whether that be for weeks, months or years. I made a go of it and that continues to make me enormously happy to this day. The joys of breastfeeding go on for years.

Mission Foods Review - Have You Tried Red Quinoa and Chia Wraps?

*This post is brought to you by Nuffnang and Mission.

As a mum, I feel I owe an awful lot to packaged flat breads. They're a perfect meal option for a quick fix when you can't be bothered doing a big cook-up. That means on weeknights these breads are a lifesaver for me! Dinner is so fast with a pack of flat breads in the house and naturally with my large family, I like to choose this option several times a week for the sake of convenience.

Breads are far less time-consuming to prepare than pasta or rice-based dishes and everybody enjoys them. Thankfully, it's a win, win.

My kids can demolish entire packets of flat breads at any time of the day too - oddly, even at breakfast times. We go through so many each week that I was more than willing to try out the Mission range when the opportunity came along.

What to Include in a Family First Aid Kit

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Nurofen.

Once upon a time our first aid kit consisted of a box of Bandaids and an antiseptic cream only. It seems laughable now but pre-children, caring for our own little incidents and ailments was quick, simple and generally fuss-free and just the barest of essentials were all that was required to see us through.

Since the arrival of children on the scene however, we've watched our family first aid kit grow accordingly and it has now expanded to become the mammoth tub of bits and bobs it is, ready to deal with every imaginable thing our kids can throw at us. Plus some.

To say we're prepared is a bit of an understatement!

Kids are such experts when it comes to accidents and illness. Not a day goes by in our home when someone doesn't require a plaster or two in the very least. Today I have two kids home sick from school and that's a fairly typical week around here. There's always a bug going around or a child with a bump, scrape, splinter or mishap in some shape or form and our first aid kit plays a busy role in this household.

There are definitely specific things I wouldn't be without for helping to soothe, heal and mend my family.

PramBasket Review - Carry More on Your Pram in Style Plus Win a Prambasket! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

You can never have enough space as a mum, be that either away from your kids for some me time, or in terms of storage. (Just being honest on that first point!)

Motherhood entails so many roles and one of them that stands out no matter where you find yourself, is the role of a pack-horse!

Babies, toddlers and kids of any age from there-on seem to require an endless supply of stuff to cart when you're out and about. Nappy bags, tote bags, strollers and prams and even shopping jeeps are something that accompany you everywhere from the moment you step outside with an entourage of little people. Juggling it all is definitely an art and none are better at the balancing act that it is, than us mamas.

illooms Balloons Review - LED Balloons for All Occasions

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Nuffnang and illooms LED Balloons.

It can be difficult to think of anything more exciting to children than balloons can't it? They're up there on the top of the list when it comes to inexpensive, easy, convenient, good old-fashioned and instant fun and there's not a lot of that around where kids are concerned these days.

Balloons are a hit for the silliest of reasons and that's why humankind is so drawn to them. Think coloured balloons, helium-filled balloons, balloons of different shapes and sizes and water balloons - they all manage to keep kids (and grown-ups!) happy for hours and are a welcome presence at so many of life's special occasions.
Deservedly so too. (I am feeling the silly vibes just writing about these wonderful things!)

The Support Only Mothers Can Give...

Do you remember those isolated early days when you had your first baby?

I can clearly recall that the support seemed to be everywhere in numbers and yet (impossibly), nowhere simultaneously. There were nurses, doctors, professionals and consultants, friends, family - even well-meaning neighbours, all gathering around at every opportunity, cooing and clucking, commenting earnestly with experience and education and everything in between.

And there I, (and most likely you too) sat, at the centre of it all, feeling bone-tired, deliriously proud, crazily overwhelmed and mentally scrambling for something (or someone) to anchor your rocking world.

Oh god, will I ever forget those days... (Will you?)

Finding the Motivation to Move Home with a Family...

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with IMB.

So, I wrote a post about tips for moving home some time ago here, which outlined our intention to sell and move back to the inner burbs of Melbourne. I thought I'd give a bit of an update on how things are coming along - or not!

To fill you in, we bought our current home as first home buyers, close to five years ago now and sadly, it has just never felt homely in the way that we had hoped it would. How do you make a house feel like a home? Apparently it's not just pretty furnishings and a happy home life. It's so many factors combined and we've not been able to grasp all of them in a strong enough hold to keep us rooted here.

Cybex Priam Review - A Luxury Designer Pram for Your Child

I've lost count now, but we may be up to our 12th pram in our time as parents. (Yes, we've had that many! Perhaps more.) For whatever reason or need, with so many kids over the years, we've tried just about every fashion and style of this most essential of parenting accessories that's been on the market.

There have been many changes in the last 15 years in the pusher market too, all reflected in the various styles and forms that have rolled before us as our growing family went from one to whoa!

From the traditional to the stroller and jogger versions out there, the one thing that stands out about the current pram trend on the streets today, is the stripping back of the frill in favour of the form and function.

The very latest Cybex Priam which hit Australian shores only recently, is one of the best examples of this modern 'ultimate pram.' It's a model that truly does reflect this balance of purpose and beauty combined - just like all of the most stylish of things.

The Royal Melbourne Show 2015 - A Review...

It perhaps sounds a little clichéd to say there's something for everyone at this year's Royal Melbourne Show but is there a better way to describe this all-ages annual springtime event?
Probably yes, however the words fail me here!

There's no denying that as soon as September begins and kids everywhere cop wind of the TV adverts for this event, they're an unstoppable force. My own kids have been holding regular internet vigils on the Royal Melbourne Show website, monitoring its every daily occurrence and making extensive show bag lists, then waving them about with incessant cries of "When can we go again?!"
(...Well kids, tomorrow actually.)

This year, the Royal Show is yet another fabulous family event and we headed off to try out the fun as early as day two into the excitement.

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Mortein.

We've recently added a new addition to our family and I haven't yet shared him with you all. He's been about a fair bit on social media, mostly on the Instagram feed where he even has his very own hashtag - #GaryLove.

Meet Gary. He's our new puddy who entered our lives at the mature age of six. Gary is a magnificent, HUGE cat with a big personality to match, in that he closely resembles a human. His presence in both mind and body was the ultimate reason he appealed to us when we chose him from the RSPCA.

He may be a regular moggy in the looks department, but he's certainly no regular cat by any other measure.

We've always had cats in our lives. Currently we have two. I really believe a home is not a home unless there's a little set of eyeballs waiting patiently for you when you return from a hard day's slog.

Carrot and Walnut Cake Recipe (Sneaky Ways to Serve Vegetables!)

How delicious is a good carrot cake?! Especially one with lashings of frosting. Yes!

Now that the school holidays are happening and the kids are around the house full-time, there's more time for home baking for us mamas (and dads!).

This carrot cake is one of my favourites and sadly, I haven't baked it in some time thanks to general life-busyness. (It's in the oven right now and the smell is divine!) I am promising myself and everybody that it will be baked more often from here on, as it's a hit whenever it is served. (Even if it has only managed to clock-in at once a year until now! - My Oops.)

I am forever struggling to find exciting ways to get the kids to eat healthier choices and this cake is one delicious way to do it.

Sweet Elephants Review - Educational Toys for Kids and a Giveaway #SLHFeaturedThursdays

It can be so difficult to find ideal playthings for children that are age appropriate and beautiful - truly standout. There's plenty of the more common stuff out there, but I really strive to find fabulous toys that my kids will love and return to, not just in early childhood, but those that they will continue to enjoy as they grow and revisit with great memories too, even in adulthood.

It's a big ask I know, but I also know that these gorgeous toys (they typically come with an almost 'heritage feel') are out there and they're worth seeking.

Can you remember a favourite toy from your own childhood? I think just about everyone can. My own was a little red plastic phone which I coveted until my first child obliterated it! I was devastated at the time, but hey, I still have those memories and photos to bring back the joy. (Plus that phone became a memory in my own daughter's childhood too, which is also special - even to me.)

Grobag Review and Giveaway - Sleeping Bags for Babies, Toddlers and Beyond...

Just one of the many items I believe all parents should own during the course of their parenting journey, are sleeping bags for children. If it's undisturbed sleep you're after, a sleeping bag can be golden. Nothing breaks up a well-deserved night's rest for everyone, like a child who is lost, tangled or uncovered in their beds.

If your child doesn't wake you due to the discomfort of it themselves, then the worry of whether they're comfortable or not will certainly keep you alert well into the night! It's one of those mothering things.

All of my babies were fitted into little sleeping bags from the moment they were no longer content with swaddling and they have remained a firm favourite at bedtime for many years from there onwards. Not just with myself, but the kids themselves. My kids have even in the past, insisted on being jammed into baggies that no longer fit just out of pure habit.

It's a case of whatever works isn't it!

Finding Time for Me in Motherhood...

'Me time?'
Ask yourself honestly, do you get any as a parent - as a mum?

I think on this pleasant, carefree, little phrase every so often and I've got to admit, these days I struggle to identify what me time even is exactly.

Can you be a mum and still have me time?
It seems this mum is getting very little, if any, of that sweet pie.

On so many occasions, I have watched on in fascination as my husband managed to churn through novel after novel on weeknights and weekends, blissfully uninterrupted. The kids waft past him cautiously, intentionally leaving him alone and even go as far as to ask me something that could have been directly addressed to their dad.

..."But dad's reading!" They reverently chime with a respect not gifted to me outside of Mother's Day.

Batman Unlimited - A Smokin' Hot Batman Toy Giveaway! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Batman! Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah!
(...And a Storm Trooper)
and Batman...!

If you've got boys then these scenes that follow will be all-too-familiar in your own home. How much do boys love their heroes and villains and everything in between?

Silly question!

Never mind those knee-high, size 4 costumes my sons grew out of around 25 years ago - they don't seem to. Not even those broken seams or the inherent wedgies will stop my youngest two from fulfilling their exciting battle fantasies when it comes to fighting crime and enforcing truth and justice on mum and dad's bed!

The Good Guys Super Hero Academy, Circus Oz Teaching Circus Skills to Kids Across Australia!

Circus Oz - we love them!

What a vibrant and talented bunch of performers these guys are! We've introduced this wonderful Australian circus of world-renown here not too long ago, when we were invited to their But Wait... There's More opening in glorious Melbourne. There's no need to ice the experience any further - it was simply wonderful.

And don't kids love the circus! There's nothing quite like the thrill and excitement of that experience.

So you can well imagine, that when an invite landed in my inbox a short while back, inviting Six Little Hearts to attend the official opening of The Good Guys Super Hero Academy in Melbourne, my kids were simply ga-ga and jumping hoops over the exciting news.

Mylight, Personalised Name Lights and Room Decor Plus Win a Mylight Gift Voucher! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

I am so pleased to be featuring the Mylight business here. I have been positively lusting after their superb night lights since forever - when I first laid eyes upon these gorgeous room enhancers. (I even blogged a little about them some time ago for Mamadoo here.)

If I were going to do a top five of desirable things parents should buy for their kids, you can bet a Mylight would make that list. They're spot-on ideal for giving any décor a personalised lift that's difficult to replicate with any other accessory.

Many of you will need no introduction at all to these stunning night lights for children. You're bound to have discovered Mylight online at some point. If you're a stylish parent who likes to accessorise your child's space or even your family living area, then these lights are a truly unique way to achieve something extra special, while being purpose-built to provide a safe and energy-efficient way to help little people settle during those long, dark nights.

Spinach and Fetta Flan Recipe - Fast and Easy Weeknight Dinners

I have only recently begun to whip up this Spinach and Fetta tart and it's absolutely delicious! It takes less than ten minutes to prepare the filling, with a total of 40 minutes baking. It's so worth the effort. (What effort?!)
The finished flan is a fantastic addition to your nightly table and it also makes a great lunch option; okay, brunch too! Anytime is a good time for this flavour combination.
From my very first tasting, I was hooked. I now keep a couple of packages of Greek fetta in my fridge and some boxes of frozen spinach on hand for whenever the urge to enjoy this takes hold. That's what I love about this particular dish; you can cut corners with packaged spinach or you can make it more authentically with fresh. Either way, the results are great.

Frico Cheese, Bringing Dutch Cheese to Australian Tables...

*This product talk post is brought to you by Nuffnang and Frico

Cheese. Wonderful stuff isn't it. Just imagine the world without this amazing food. How un-fun would that be? I dread to think.

I've been a bit of a lucky blogger lately and I am kicking my excited heels with the sheer gourmet delight of it all. Some of life's finest quality foods and wines have been warmly welcomed into my fridge and pantry, providing myself and my family with some excellent tastes and experiences. (Did you check out my recent Taltarni wines score? Or perhaps yoghurt is your thing?)

Anyway, it seems so fitting, that deliveries of wine and cheese arrived together recently. I truthfully can't think of a combination I prefer more!

Tesoro Jewellery, Italy's Little Treasures. A Fine Jewellery Giveaway #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Are you, like me, growing a little tired of the endless Father's Day emails and catalogues that are currently bombarding our inboxes and letterboxes at the moment? I think I am allowed to sound a wee bit selfish when I say that this time of year is ever-so-slightly boring if you're a woman!

...Especially, a woman whose Birthday happens to fall right around the same time as this annual special men's day.

Don't get me wrong - guys, you absolutely deserve your special day, it's just, how's a girl meant to shop for gift ideas for herself, when all she can find in the stores are socks, jocks and aftershave?

First world problems people!
