Modapelle Handbag Review - Meet Floral Dream... #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Are you always on the lookout for a new, fashionable handbag?

Personally, I am often on the prowl for a new bag, (whether actively or stumbled upon accidently) and I think most of us women-folk would agree; handbag shopping is up there at the top of the list when it comes to hunting down covetable wardrobe necessities - after all, you can never really have too many handbags now can you?

Many of you will be familiar with the Australian label Modapelle, who have been manufacturing a steady supply of high quality handbags and wallets since their establishment here in 1991. This quality home-grown fashion label is now an internationally recognised brand and is stocked in over 1000 stores globally.

The Modapelle range has a stylish bag for every woman, every occasion, every need and budget and wherever you wish to go, making it easy to understand why the extensive range of designs by Modapelle are such a big hit worldwide.

Today's Featured Thursdays is all about showcasing Modapelle's beautiful Floral Dream handbag(product number 1993).

This is a stunning genuine leather handbag which has been meticulously hand painted to reflect the beauty of nature and add colour to your wardrobe, while also being hardy enough for the practical role a bag plays in your life on a day to day basis.

Modapelle's Floral Dream is a part of their hand painted leather series released in the Summer 2015 collection.

You'll probably readily agree with me here, when I say that the Floral Dream is drop dead gorgeous!

Truthfully, this bag has been netting me compliments wherever I have carried it which is always something that makes you feel great.

Honestly, I feel fantastic when I wear this!

Not only is the handbag manufactured from a quality, full-grain leather of luxury weight, but it is painted with the most vibrant images of flowers in full bloom, (some with a shimmer effect) and it catches the light to stand out no matter what the Season.

The size of this Modapelle favourite is perfect too. It's not bulky or awkward to carry and yet it holds everything. Mine is packed full with my regular handbag items plus a toddler nappy change kit for accidents and I still have room for additional items such as a spot of shopping, toys, a sippy cup or a magazine, iPad and other necessities.

On the bag's front is a huge square pocket which fastens via a strong magnetic snap. Besides being a great pocket for items you may need quickly, I have to say that the long strap which opens the flap is brilliant! One quick grab and you can access your things in here without hassle.

The rear of the bag sees the beautiful floral detailing continue. There's another zippered pocket here which is really quite large and I use this one to stow my mobile phone. It's a great, secure place to store anything of value which you'd like to keep extra safe against your body.

Details such as quality brushed brass hardware and extra reinforcement on areas where the bulk of the bag's weight falls have been well considered. This bag is crafted in a thick, lovely (and lively!)leather and should handle many years of use.

As you would expect in a designer bag, not only is the exterior a work of art, but the interior too. The Floral Dream is fully lined with a lush, soft sateen canvas which makes opening the bag a really pleasurable experience. It's so much easier to find things inside your bag against a bright lining.

There's a large mobile phone pocket on the inside and a very roomy zippered wall pocket for securing smaller personal items and both are surrounded by the signature full leather, hand painted trim.

And the best is yet to come: This bag is fully convertible!

You can wear this as a mid-shoulder length bag, (it sits comfortably at your waist) or simply pull the straps through the carefully designed hardware to quickly convert it into a very stylish backpack.

This fantastic conversion feature is what really sells this bag to me, apart from its beautiful and unique look. Having the convenience of going hands-free in an instant is undoubtedly one of the greatest features any accessory can offer. Backpacks are a true favourite of mine too.

This stunning yet practical handbag gets a huge tick of approval from me. It's a great style - it's beyond pretty and it is manufactured to the highest of standards. There is not a thing I would see changed in its design which is really the biggest 'accessory compliment' I can give.

If you're looking for a new handbag, (or just have a desire to treat yourself to a newbie for absolutely no reason at all), then this is a handbag that comes highly recommended.

The Modapelle Floral Dream as featured here retails for $198 and is available in department stores and wherever quality bags are sold. There are many different styles available in the hand painted collection as well as colour combinations. Visit the Modapelle website here in Australia to view more of their current Summer and Winter 2015 season catalogues or to find a stockist near you.

  3. It doesn't look like it would be leather at first glance. I guess you don't see that many leather bags that are painted in this way. It looks fab! Love that it turns into a backpack.

    1. Yes I know. I love using leather as it just lasts so much better than the alternative. It's a very striking bag and it smells divine too.

  6. Glad I read your review. I've been toying with the idea of a handbag/backpack combo, but wasn't sure if it would work for me. Before I proceed with an order, can I ask you a question? I already have one of the Modapelle bags, which I've now outgrown in size. I've had it for 1.5 years, but shortly after I bought it I noticed that the "O" ring and tag off one of the pockets, would fall off every now and then. Then I travelled through Cuba and the USA in Apr-Jun, and LOST the tag and "O" ring somewhere in Havana!! I have no idea whether I can purchase another one from Modapelle, but I would be interested in hearing whether you have ever encountered this particular problem with yours?

Looking forward to hearing your input. Thanks again for putting this review out there!

    Cheers, heather
