This week, Featured Thursdays is focussed on bathroom solutions for parents who appreciate organisation, but have little hope of achieving it while they have children.
That's just about all of us isn't it?
It seems that each and every time I walk into my own bathroom since having kids, I find it in a total shambles and I'll bet it's the same at your home too.
Towels are thrown over rails (and never neatly - or worse, they're just on the floor), the toothpaste is uncapped and oozing onto our limited bench space beside the basin, (a pet hate of mine), the basin itself is covered in un-rinsed toothpaste from careless kids, and the mirror sometimes even has toothpaste drawings!
It's a multiple kind of yuck experience.
And our bathtub? That place which is meant to be a sanctuary of cleanliness? Well, that's just covered in whatever my kids have flung into it.
Oh my, it irks me no end!
So let's talk bathtub toys...Love them or loathe them, they're essential things.
We have loads of bathtub toys, as do most families. Tub toys help to keep kids happy while they wash and they most certainly give them something to do while we shampoo the grub from our kids' sweet little heads.
What I have never loved about bath toys however, is the wet, cluttery mess they make. It's another step to take in a long day of thousands of steps, just to pack those things away, neatly and cleanly for the next tub-time experience.
While we've always a tub in our bathroom to store our wet toys in, (and despite constantly putting them into it), they are forever emptied out again by my bathroom-lurking kids who do god knows what in there all day long. (It's another room to play in, so it seems.)
Dreambaby have a bathroom solution that's worth a look-in. The Peli's Bathtub Play Pouch is both a fun toy for bath time and a fantastic and attractive way to store your bathtub clutter. What a win, win!
Dreambaby sent us one of their innovative Play Pouches to road test here and we're 100 percent sold on this item - the kids, because he's a toy, and myself, because it's a great storage solution.
Peli is a cute pelican who clips easily onto your bathtub via a fully-adjustable sliding hook and he can hold a good deal of bathtub clutter in his generous-sized, airy mesh pouch. (His attachment mechanism is adjustable up to 13cm / 5 inches.)
Dreambaby's Peli's Bathtub Play Pouch is a cutie too. Peli the pelican has a huge bill which opens and closes easily so that even the youngest of children can manage to get their own toys both in and out of him.
Young kids can play all sorts of games with Peli while they bathe - the best of which is 'pack up' at the end! Lots of eager helpers will enjoy tossing their own toys into his tummy and it's all in the name of fun!
We've even discovered that his open 'bill' is very handy for holding wet flannels and light-weight bottles while bath time is in progress as it makes a great little shelf.

You can suit yourself as to exactly how and where you place Dreambaby's Peli's Bathtub Play Pouch as he's completely reversible. Mount him to hang within the actual bathtub itself during bath time, where your child or children can play with him and his contents, or keep things spacious within the bath by hanging him on the tub's exterior.
Dreambaby's pelican is simple to setup and his mesh bag is fully machine washable too, reducing the incidence of mould growth on both the toys and toy holder.
We love this combined toy and space-saving device. He's popular with our little bathers and he's an attractive bathroom addition that's helping us to maintain some acceptable tidy standards.
Dreambaby's Peli's Bathtub Play Pouch (product code F684) retails for $39.95 and is recommended for children from 6 months of age.
Another little mention here too, regarding little mouths and keeping those clean.
Dreambaby have a Three Stage Baby Gum and Tooth Care set of toothbrushes which are designed to grow with your child. Available in white, pink or blue, you can colour co-ordinate your child's grooming essentials while providing the very best in oral care.
The Three Stage design offers parents an ideal toothbrush for each level of their child's development - from baby to toddler. The toothbrushes have nice chubby handles that are suitable for the hands of adults and children alike.
Dreambaby's Three Stage Baby Gum and Tooth Care toothbrushes retail for $9.95. (Product code F325.)

Oh wow - that looks great ! #brilliantblogposts
ReplyDeleteNappy buckets work great to store toys and lotions in the bathroom. Little fingers can only open them when an adult helps at bath time!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this prize as my little ones could do with some nifty storage for their bath toys. This one is quite unique and looks like fun. Kids would enjoy packing bath toys away!
ReplyDeleteBath time can look like the toy room at times! I love the practicality and total cuteness of Peli's Bathtub play pouch!
ReplyDeleteWe have recently finished renovating our bathroom have been using our laundry tub for 2 years with our little boy this would be great for storing all his new bath toys that we have now covering the bathroom floor!
ReplyDeleteThe only bath in our home is in my ensuite so the bath tidy would be perfect to keep it neat and avoid me tripping on little missy's toys when I'm getting ready in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteI have a shopping bag that hangs off the tap with all the kids toys
ReplyDeleteThat would be prefect to stop the rank mould!! Bleugh!
ReplyDeletethat looks like a fun way to store toys
ReplyDeleteWe're trying to teach bub to pick up her toys after her bath, but so far it doesn't work that well because she'll put some in her basket then throw them back into the bath again.
ReplyDeleteI adore that pelican. I remember the days of mouldy toys and toys full of manky water. I must tell you... I shared your oat bake recipe on Facebook and was inundated with requests from my annoying colleagues to make some so guess who's baking for the first time in decades on Sunday? If they turn out I'll write about the historic event and tag you Jody x
ReplyDeleteFrom bathtubs to biscuits! Oh lovely - let me know how that goes!
DeleteWow! This is great. We have tons of bath toys and yes I feel like our beautiful bath has been turned into a toy box for kids. Peli sounds fun and practical!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately a working mother cannot claim compensation for injury, I need a bathroom tidy and clutter free
ReplyDeleteHave a small bathroom - no room for mess or you would simply trip over.
ReplyDeleteI would love this, I just end up with a mountain of toys on the floor. Samantha jade
ReplyDeleteLooks fun and playful for bath time.
ReplyDeleteKeep the kids out of the bathroom - then there's no mess to begin with!
ReplyDeletePelli would be a welcome addition to our bathroom. We currently only have 3 squirty toys for the bath because Mr has been too little for anything else and we keep our bathroom tidy by not buying more things than we have room to store. Pelli would kill 2 birds with one stone ( possibly not the best line to use here.....) we could buy some more toys which we are now ready for AND have somewhere to store them. Lydia Arundell
ReplyDeleteI have a little flexi plastic bin and after every bath we make it a game to throw all toys in there and it's tidy again
ReplyDeleteOne word - a MOP!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea,
ReplyDeleteNo mess - so I cheer!
Easy for them to clear up,
As bath time mess can be tough!

My daughter just loves playing with toys in the bath.. and this is easy storage to keep the bathroom tidy... awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has just started wanting to stay in the bath and play with her toys. This would be great!
ReplyDeleteAmy butcher
I have a rack over the end of the bath so the toys can be placed on to dry then they get kept in a Kane basket until the next time they have a bath. having 4 kids i found this the easiest.
ReplyDeleteI have my bathroom cupboards locked and also have my daughters toys all in a little basket
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that pelican? Would love to win to keep our bathroom neat as his beak can hold more than his belly can.
ReplyDeletewe keep all the bath toys in a plastic tub and i give the tub a quick spray when the kids get out so no soap residue build up
ReplyDeleteWe have a plastic basket that is over flowing with bath toys. I really should cull. I can imagine that Moo would love packing and unpacking things into this Pelican's beak, as that's one of her favourite things to do at the moments... so not only is this great for storage, but fine motor skills too :) It may even entice Dora (4) to pack away her toys!
ReplyDeleteI give them each their own drawer in the bathroom - they are more excited to put things away when they get to put it in their own special drawer - Melissa Perry
ReplyDeleteThat's actually a great little idea! Thanks so much for sharing and congratulations, Peli is yours! I will be in touch shortly! ;D
DeleteMy bath is AWASH with the litter of toys. How TWEET it would be to have them stored away neatly. From toy support to ORAL support, it's a great way to BRUSH up on my skills!
ReplyDeleteI have a spray bottle in the bathroom with a bleach solution. I spray the bathtub and toys after bath time, leave for 5 minutes and rinse down thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteWow - you're dedicated - can you come over and do ours too?!!
DeleteLily Nguyen
ReplyDeleteAs we have a shower over our bath and my son isn't very good at packing away his bath toys, it is usually a battle to get into the shower. Peli would be a very welcome addition to our house. Megan Higgs
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I know a little girl who will now love putting away her toys as it will be a fun game feeding Peli at the end of bath time.
ReplyDeleteI have four girl's that would love this for packing there bath toys away. THANKYOU
ReplyDeleteI would love this so the kids can have fun packing away the toys instead of it being left to ME every night :-O
