Have a girl child? Check.
A girl child who likes to build? Check.
Do you live near an ALDI supermarket? Check.
Well, if you head on down to your local Aldi store (and I mean like, yesterday - literally), you could be lucky enough to chance upon the very latest addition to the GoldieBlox family - the GoldieBlox Builder's Survival Kit which is available exclusively at ALDI stores from Wednesday the 22nd of July.
Excitement huh!
(Okay, I can hear some of you thinking - Whoa slow down! What are we on about here?)
GoldieBlox, if you're unfamiliar, is a spectacular building concept toy designed specifically for girls.
If you've been hovering around my page here for a while now, you may recall this fab toy featured in a review here in the past and you can read up on it as a refresher here.
GoldieBlox is the brainchild of a real-life female engineer, Debbie Sterling, who decided that the offerings in the toy aisle for girls needed a good shake-up - because girls like to build too. (There's a strong notion out there that building toys are exclusively for boys isn't there? Nuh-Uh!)
GoldieBlox fills the building toy void by being attractive to girls in colour, concept and features. Goldie herself is cool, confident and retro-styled and her building sets encourage problem solving with character, colour and flair, all the while persuading girls to 'give it a go.'
And now - introducing the GoldieBlox and The Builder's Survival Kit: Exclusive to ALDI as of Wednesday the 22nd of July. (Be quick, that was yesterday already!)
This kit is the ultimate GoldieBlox fan's set with a huge 190 pieces for endless building opportunities. The kit includes a book, three characters, press-outs, axles, joints, wheels, washers, spacers and all the builders 'nuts and bolts' which have made GoldieBlox such a hit. Priced nicely at $49.99.
Stay tuned for a review here. This special promotion was faster than the post!

ReplyDeleteI would love this for my niece. She is at the age where creativity is key to her entertainment. I have previously given her craft kits like jewellery and decorating fashion accessories. I think from that experience she would love a GoldieBlox kit especially when the knowledge is tied to what is being learnt at school.
She loves building with her 2 x marble maze sets (Daddy worked out you can build bigger and better when you have double the pieces!)

DeleteI am basically running a non-profit summer camp for kids at my house. I have so many children in my yard/house all the time! I couldn't begin to tell you all their names, but my daughter and her friends are all constantly building out of legos, sand, recyclables, paper and sticks. It'd be awesome to have another type of construction toy for my "campers."
