*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Taltarni.
It's a tough life being a blogger - especially when you are asked to write about topics such as wine.
Someone's got to do it and quite naturally, (with absolutely no pushing, shoving or encouragement of any kind), I agreed - because I like to help.
You guessed it; when the opportunity to try Taltarni wines was offered, I was on board faster than you can say...
"Pass the glasses!"
(Well, faster than you could say just about anything really.)
Wines are one of life's most wonderful enjoyments and when my fantasies are really wandering wildly, I am the owner of a vineyard and a wine producer. (I am also a chocolatier when I really get going.)
I've always been fascinated by the whole winemaking process. Sadly, the closest I have ever come to being in the presence of lots of wine, was as an employee in a wine store back in my university days.
Still, I can dream...
Taltarni wines were established in Victoria's Pyrenees region in 1969 when owner John Goelet, (a direct descendant of the Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux) settled the Taltarni vineyards in 1972. A worldwide search for an estate with characteristics similar to the famous wine region of Bordeaux was conducted and it was here where the final match was made.
Today, Taltarni wines are known for their marriage of old-world traditions and new-world techniques which produce a stunning range of sought-after still and sparkling wines.
Now I'm not going to keep you for long on this because I know for a fact that you, like me, are getting thirsty just looking at these images. (Those bottles are chilling as I type!)
Taltarni would like you to know about a couple of great things and are giving you the chance to win some truly wonderful prizes.
First up, Taltarni are collaborating with Ben Milbourne of Masterchef fame, to celebrate friends, food, wine and 'life's key moments.'
To kick-off this exciting partnership, Taltarni are giving away an exclusive chef's dinner experience at Chateau Taltarni prepared by Ben Milbourne himself!
The prize for the winner and three of their friends, is two nights accommodation at Chateau Taltarni, transfers and flights, a personalised tour of the winery and tastings plus two mixed dozen cases of Taltarni's award-winning wines! Full details can be found on Taltarni's website here.
