The Good Guys Super Hero Academy, Circus Oz Teaching Circus Skills to Kids Across Australia!

Circus Oz - we love them!

What a vibrant and talented bunch of performers these guys are! We've introduced this wonderful Australian circus of world-renown here not too long ago, when we were invited to their But Wait... There's More opening in glorious Melbourne. There's no need to ice the experience any further - it was simply wonderful.

And don't kids love the circus! There's nothing quite like the thrill and excitement of that experience.

So you can well imagine, that when an invite landed in my inbox a short while back, inviting Six Little Hearts to attend the official opening of The Good Guys Super Hero Academy in Melbourne, my kids were simply ga-ga and jumping hoops over the exciting news.

Would we like to come along? - Would we?! ...Absolutely!

The Good Guys Super Hero Academy is an exciting circus skills workshop for kids aged between 6 and 12 years. The Good Guys created the academy and it's facilitated by a handful of talented Circus Oz performers. This unique collaboration is bringing the experience of a fabulous two hour activity-based workshop to children across Australia, with its official 12 month-long tour launching on the day we attended. (Apologies for the image quality, this event was held in an old venue with low-light.)

Following the opening speeches, a group of super-excited kids looked on in awe as the Circus Oz Super Hero Trainers burst onto the scene with a display of fun, colour and physical prowess - the kind that they're famous for.

Would they?...Could they?...Might they come away a few of those skills and tricks?

...Well, maybe not exactly at their level of expertise but the workshops do aim to give kids a pretty up close and personal experience with what it's like to tap into their inner bravery, confidence, courage and patience via a whopping-great method!

And this is whole point at the core of The Good Guys Super Hero Academy: teaching kids to learn to embrace courage and find their 'super hero within.'

Oh boy, kids in attendance loved taking part in this experience! Who wouldn't enjoy trying out all that amazing circus equipment with genuine circus performers as teachers to show you the ropes? (I was envious that's for sure!) 

 

It's a very safe environment with lots of crash mats and the care and dedication is obvious. The Circus Oz team are sensitive to the needs of the individual kids and there was nothing rushed or forced about the program. It was all fun and smiles from start to finish.

Kids are split into smaller groups and taken on a circus skills gauntlet where they're spun, bounced and jogged through a series of challenging and exciting physical adventures. Each workshop caters to a maximum of 40 children with a 1:8 trainer to participant ratio. This keeps the kids engaged and well-supervised throughout.

At the workshop's end, kids are awarded a certificate and gifted a goody bag of super hero fun which includes these sensational Super Hero outfits! (They make sweet photo opportunities don't you think?!)

We had a fabulous time attending this event and strongly encourage you to get your kids to one of these workshops to experience the fun too. Worth. Every. Minute!

 

Just The Facts:

 

The Good Guys Super Hero Academy is FREE to attend!

(These events are wholly funded by The Good Guys as part of their Doing Good program.)

 

Workshops run for two hours and are strictly for children between the ages of 6-12 years.

 

To attend a workshop you will need to register. (Hop to it! Places are limited.)

Currently The Good Guys Super Hero Academy is touring Melbourne and Victoria.

(Including the September school holidays.)
