Closer to Nature Express and Go Complete Breast Milk Starter Set Review and Giveaway #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Just the other day I calculated just how many years of my life I have been breastfeeding my six children in total and I came up with an impressive five and a half years! That's a significant amount of time to do anything.

Most of that breastfeeding period was so enjoyable but I'd be lying outright if I said there were no hurdles whatsoever. Trust me, there were plenty! Some issues we overcame together with time and stubborn persistence on my own part and others sadly ended the experience abruptly.

Overall, I am deeply content to know that each of my babies were fed the way nature intended, whether that be for weeks, months or years. I made a go of it and that continues to make me enormously happy to this day. The joys of breastfeeding go on for years.

My longest breastfeeding stint ever - close to three years with my youngest, has just drawn to a natural close. My little girl weaned herself a few short weeks ago. For a tiny time there, I was mopey and saddened as I left this lovely stage behind but also overjoyed too - we had 'made it' together from day one and it was an enormous pride-filled success: Bonding, powerful, emotional and rewarding.

I can hold and cherish those precious times in my heart now for the rest of my life and for me, that's the personal reward of breastfeeding; that and also the fact that all of my babies have had the very best start in life.

If you're currently expecting or lactating, my best piece of advice for you, is to buy the right equipment upfront!

My most successful breastfeeding experiences were when I had everything on hand from the day each new baby came home. New life is undoubtedly beautiful but it's also enormously tiring and stressful and having everything you need to express breast milk, store breast milk and deal with any breastfeeding issues as soon as they arise, will significantly improve your chances of success in the long run.

I can't stress this enough; If you've even a passing interest in breastfeeding your child for a decent term, get prepared early and buy your feeding needs when you shop for your baby's general essential equipment.

It's well understood that breastfeeding can be time-consuming and doesn't always fit in with the lifestyles of modern day parents and thankfully, there are so many new products and continually improved products on the market to help mums extend this beautiful bonding period further.

Closer to Nature have a wonderful system for mamas who wish to speed-up the process of expressing breast milk, storing milk and feeding their milk to their children so that they can get on with other things.

The fantastic Closer to Nature Express and Go Complete Breast Milk Starter Set contains everything you need to express without fuss, plus store, warm and feed your milk to your child. It's a product that's perfect for streamlining feeding by this method which traditionally done, is a fiddly and messy business.

While I can no longer actually test the system here personally, I can say from experience that this is a brilliant purchase for a new mum or a mum who wishes to, or needs to, leave their child for a period of time due to other commitments. Or even if you just desire a break!

This Closer to Nature complete system allows you to express your breast milk directly into a single pre-sterilised pouch using any breast pump!

You can then store up to 12 filled pouches in the provided case within your fridge or freezer until each portion is required. The specially designed case includes compartments and keeps your milk pouches separate and protected from damage.

There's a breast milk bottle and pouch warming appliance included in the kit which is designed to warm your baby's milk to the perfect temperature. It's a good-looking unit and simple to operate. (It plugs into a power source.)

When the time comes to feed your baby, simply warm your milk pouch inside the unit and click the pouch into the bottle with the specially designed fitting included and your baby can enjoy your milk directly. There are no spills and no wastage of your precious breast milk using this system. One Pouch does the lot and there are less bottles to wash too!

Included in the Closer to Nature Express and Go Complete Breast Milk Starter Set is the following:

One Pouch and Bottle Warmer
One Breast Milk Storage Case
One Breast Pump Adaptor Set
Two Extra Slow Flow Teats (breast-like teats)
Two Breast Milk Pouch Bottles with slow flow teats (breast-like teats)
Twenty breast milk pouches 180ml volume
Full instructions for use.

The full Tommee Tippee Express and Go range by Closer to Nature is available to purchase at Babies R Us, Baby Bunting and Big W. Additional accessories are available to purchase when you require replacements or if you wish to add to the system. Additional Breast Milk Pouches are available in packs of 20 and retail for RRP $19.99.

The Closer to Nature Express and Go Complete Breast Milk Starter Set featured here retails for RRP $130. It's a great purchase to simplify your transition from breast to bottle or to simply give yourself some time-out. I only wish I had one of these early on in my journey so that I could have made full use of this brilliant system.

  31. I'm breastfeeding my 4 month old son, who I affectionately nicknamed "little piggy" at just 2 days old because he fed hourly & this continued for first few weeks. I hired a breast pump from pharmacy for a month at $40 p/w to increase milk supply & try to build up small amount of expressed milk to have on hand, but each time I did this my son demanded to drink that milk too. He is finally in a routine now & feeding every 3-4 hours, but I can't afford to rent a breast pump again now, so it looks like I will remain Holly Hussey, Mummy Milk Machine attached to the hip with bub
