  7. I never played with The Sylvanian families as a child but I'm glad my kids get to experience the fun these little characters bring. Freya the chocolate rabbit girl is one of our favourite sylvanians, and I think the country tree school would be an excellent educational toy set. I love that there's a uniform and backpack to accompany the prize. - s.ellwood

  27. My 2 boys were given some of these as part of a hand me down box... They looked new so I offered them back. They were apparently many years old. They have since become egg box racers and tissue box astronauts but the one I loved most was the toilet paper roll waterslide timed racing. They lasted many years and 2 boys so I totally want them for my daughter Cyclone Casey.

  32. I wish I had Sylvanian Families - I bought my daughter her first figures from Ebay UK when she was 2 and 8 years later she's still playing with them. She just started a youtube channel where she describes her Sylvanian sets and how she puts them together with fixtures from Lalaloopsy, Barbie and Strawberry Shortcake to have even more fun.

  35. I had to go without when I was young. Now I see the Sylvanians in the shops again I get the same longing I had as a 5 year old. From sheer hard work and dedication i've put myself in the position to be able to start a (modest) collection for my girl and its something we can share away from the world of technology and worries.

  36. My daughter (5 yrs old) saw this link on my Instagram this morning. She was so excited about the competition but needed some explaining about how it is a random win, like "picking a name out of a hat". She came back to me 10 mins later and asked if we could enter right at the end so our names would be at the top. Love her logic!
I was never lucky enough to have Sylvanian Families as a child but Santa is hopefully brining some to the house this year, this would be a lovely addition!

  40. All I wanted when I was a little girl was a Sylvanian Families house/characters. Mum could never afford it so I saved and saved and saved and saved. By the time I was 7 and a half I had just enough money to buy a little house and 2 rabbits. I remember it like it was yesterday (all 29 years ago!!), Thursday late night shopping, dad took me into Toyworld as soon as he got home from work and I bought my very first Sylvanian set. It is beautiful to see my daughter with as much love and passion for them, however she's not a great saver, so I think she'll have to wait for Santa to bring some more Sylvanian characters :) Katherine Bamford

  41. I remember watching tv advertisements of the Sylvanian Families as a child and secretly pined for them but knew my parents wouldn't buy them for me. Now as a mother I see my sons' faces light up when they see the to commercials. Something truly magical about this family that makes them appealing to all

I hope to win to share my play memories with my two daughters x

  51. I was so jealous of my neighbour who had Sylvanian Families set up in her room. They had the most intricate little worlds, with tiny household furniture and implements, and I would beg my neighbour to let us play at her house instead of mine so we could play with them. My little Miss is equally fascinated by toys with tiny details, and I know she would fall in love with the Sylvanian families. So depressing to think they have hit their 30th anniversary!

  52. Patricia Comer Unfortunately I never experienced play with Sylvanian Families as a child. I had 2 brothers and it was mainly marbles, and cowboys and Indians. I do remember many girl things except for a cabbage patch doll when I was like 10 and that was given to me from someone at church. My daughter is 5 years and loves playing with small things. She has a dolls house with furniture but the wooden peg dolls, do not offer much enthusiasm. I think that Sylvanian Families would provide her with the extra magic that would captivate her imagination and revive her interactive play. Joanne knows a little about Sylvania Families because they are in the girl's magazines that I buy her every couple of months... now almost on a monthly basis lol. After visiting Sylvania Families on Face book, I couldn't help but get a little excited about seeing these adorable rabbits dressed in Halloween costumes and other outfits. I would love to experience these delightful characters with my daughter and hopefully in another 30 years too, she will enjoy the same experience with her children.

  54. I had a cute little family of rabbits as a kid... Or bears. Maybe it was both. They were so adorable and I remember they were cherished possessions as none of my friends has them lol but most of all I loved their little tea set made with real ceramic. My daughter loves little toys and their accessories. She plays for hours with little animals and dolls. Great for imagination.

  58. Sylvanian Families are absolutely gorgeous. When you see them you just want to pick them up and play in their world. I would have loved these more than anything when I was a child, but never had any to play with. Always made me sad when I saw them boxed up at the shops. I love that they have brought them back for a whole new generation to enjoy and for former childhood fans to experience the magic again. I might be able to make up for lost time and share the Sylvanian Family experience with my son. I'm sure it will bring endless hours of fun and no limits to the imagination. Candice Milner

  64. I loved setting up my Sylvanian Bear Family home with all the adorable little furniture and accessories. I had a full set of cups and plates and tiny kitchen ware.
In fact I loved playing with them so much, I even kept everything for my future daughter (Due in December).

I'm so glad Sylvanian Familys are still going strong and continue to release new families and houses etc. Now my daughter can set up her own Sylvanian Family and little town and my original Bear family can make a comeback and visit her new Sylvanian friends.

  66. As a little girl I was desperately shy,
Terrified the other kids would make me cry!
One sunny day my mother introduced me,
To my very first Sylvanian family!
For hours on end my bunny friends would play,
With me entertained and happy every day!
Pretty soon more Sylvanian friends moved in,
And I never had to feel alone again!
Strangely soon after I made a 'real' friend,
Who had her own Sylvanian families so we started to lend!
We became best friends and even to this day,
Our love for our Sylvanian families will never stray!

  80. My daughter has just turned 5, and for her birthday we introduced her to the world of Sylvanian Families. As she opened her carefully wrapped birthday present, I held my breathe waiting for her reaction. By giving my daughter her first Sylvanian family, it was like time travelling back to my own happy childhood. She delights in creating stories, imagining and roleplaying with her little Rabbit family and I can't wait to be able to help her grow her Sylvanian world.
