While Myer is undoubtedly known for its annual themed and animated Christmas window displays which have delighted Australian families for six decades, this famous department store is also gaining a reputation for its one-stop-Christmas store - the Giftorium.
We were recently invited to attend the Grand Opening of the Giftorium at Myer's bustling Melbourne City store and it was a huge event complete with mainstream media, Melbourne-based bloggers and others of note to help along with the occasion.
The event was officially launched by Myer Ambassador (model, athlete and TV Presenter), Kris Smith, who gave an eloquent speech around the story of the Giftorium before welcoming invitees to explore the exciting world's within this Christmas universe.
If you're wondering what the Giftorium actually is and what it could possibly mean for you, well, picture an entire floor-section of the department store reserved exclusively for all things Christmas. There's a dedicated Giftorium located within every Myer store for the convenience of everybody no matter where you reside.
There's no need to wander aimlessly and battle the season's crowds on the streets below (at the Melbourne store) to find your Christmas gifts because Myer have taken the best of the best brands and offerings and condensed them into one, easy-to-browse level, full of festive décor and spirit to sweeten the experience. It's a great place to visit!
Not only can you shop for decorations to design your best Christmas yet, but gifts for absolutely everyone on your list, from children to grown-ups and even corporate ideas - it's all here plus some. Find toys, tech, cosmetics, food and quirky gifts as well as loads of items that can be personalised.
This is the perfect place to browse and we were so impressed that we're heading back to our local Myer store this weekend to do some more intense shopping.

As luck would have it, on the opening day of the Giftorium, I was dragging about an unwell toddler who was a little shy and overwhelmed about the whole thing. We weren't going to miss the 2015 launch however, as we'd missed every other year's invite due to... sickness! (There's always got to be one.)
My girl, (despite her apparent lack of enthusiasm in these images!) had a fantastic morning filled with Christmas fun, food, entertainment and shopping right along with me. It was a great experience and for the first time this year, a little bit of Christmas sparkle came to life within. (Needless to say I've been shopping and planning like crazy since!)

For attendees, the treats were laid on with a bottomless assortment of Christmas cakes and fruit-infusions to try, all of them absolutely mouth-watering!
The Giftorium has all tastes and budgets covered and easily one of the more popular sections was the Nutella area. (Surprised?!) Here you can buy a jar of this famous spread and emblazon it with a personalised name label for a very unique and inexpensive gift idea that's bound to please absolutely anyone.

Bloggers were gifted generous goody bags which contained a personalised mammoth jar of Nutella as well as other beautiful, quality personalised items and the whole morning was a great chance to indulge, shop, craft and meet with others in the Melbourne blogging community. All up, a truly wonderful event.
All staff at the Giftorium have been trained in the art of assisting customers to choose gifts so do take advantage of these skills when buying for the hard-to-please.

You can visit a Giftorium at a Myer store near you and you can find locations and store hours here.
The Myer Melbourne Giftorium is located on level 6, Bourke Street Mall.
If you're unable to make it into a store, do check out some of the great gift ideas

Brisbane has their launch today and I can't wait to go! I do have to agree that Melbourne's Giftorium is amazing! We went there last year when we headed down for the Kidspot Gala. I'm so very looking forward to Christmas!
ReplyDeleteDo have fun at your event today - good timing then! I love Melbourne and I am glad you did too.
DeleteI would have loved to go to the Sydney one but alas- must work! Looks amazing- Myer really does know how to do presents!
ReplyDeleteOH no! I feel for you! Sorry to hear. I won't be missing any in future.
DeleteI love giving personalised gifts. As a child I always wanted a personalised mug or pencil like the other kids but 'Ingrid' was just not a common enough name for me to ever find anything personalised in my name! I love how nowadays you can get any name personalised.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to visiting the Sydney Myer Giftorium this weekend.
I had the same problem in that my name ends with a Y and not the IE that is always on personalised things. You will be thrilled to receive your personalised Nutella then! I can't bring myself to open mine! Enjoy yourself in Sydney!
DeleteWhat a job. Looks like you had a fun day out.
ReplyDeleteIt was fantastic and as a first-timer, I was impressed much!
DeleteWe had a great time at the launch too! The same singers were there last year and my daughter just didn't want to leave that area. She was dancing and bopping along. We didn't even get to the Build A Bear section. I'm glad the vouchers are valid until the end of the year! #teamIBOT
ReplyDeleteEmily, I spotted you there just as the media launch was starting and then I never spotted you again! Sorry for not saying hello. One day we'll meet in person. It was a great day.
DeleteI was in Melbourne a few years ago near Christmas, Oh those window displays!! Nothing like that in Canberra-ville.
ReplyDeleteI remember them so well and all the excitement from when I was a kid. Always magic. Canberra has other excitements all of its own I'm sure!
DeleteOh this looks so fun! I went to the Giftorium last year and it was great - such an easy way to find presents for those tricky people!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun Lucy and I am heading back this week to see those Myer windows too!
DeleteWe went last year. It's very shiny in there!
ReplyDeleteShiny it is! The best part about this time of year. :D
DeleteMy boys and I have just been to the Brisbane launch this morning and found so many great Christmas present ideas. We used to make the big trek down to Melbourne each year as kids to see the Myer Christmas windows and I'm hoping to take the boys to see them when we are down in victoria over the next couple of week.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope it was as much fun!
DeleteI will go again this week to see those windows and I hope I can get close-enough with the toddler in the crowds!
Oh STOP IT! My nearest MYER is 3.5 hours drive to Newcastle! :-( :-( :-(
ReplyDeleteMy brother lives in Newcastle.Perhaps it's time I paid him a visit!
The Giftorium looks A-MAZ-ING!
Oh no! You can shop online if you wish though you won't have that magic experience. It's the season to visit family isn't it?!
DeleteOh wow you guys had a Build a Bear there! That's awesome. We didn't have one at the Brisbane launch today. Lots of cool stuff though. I can't wait to devour my Nutella jar.
ReplyDelete...and I can't bring myself to open my personalised Nutella!
DeleteBuild-A-Bear is fab isn't it! I have never actually seen a Bear made before and I love all the sweet inclusions you can add to your build. I am sure the Brisbane event was lots of fun too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like such a great setup!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the Brisbane one just the other day and although it didn't have all the same things (no celebs or build-a-bears) it was very fun. And I got a lot more Christmas shopping done!
Away From The Blue Blog
I love the Giftorium! I was so sorry to miss the event this year, thanks for this review. I'll be heading in to get some gifts and see the Myer Christmas windows with the boys:-)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I am thinking a personalised jar of Nutella is something I want!
ReplyDeleteSydney Launch is tomorrow I am so excited.
ReplyDeleteWow this looks great! So bummed I couldn't get there BUT I am totally going to check this out as I think Little Miss Raj would love this and I am looking for inspiration for Xmas pressies!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH DYING OF JEALOUSY!!! I love Christmas, I love the giftorium, I must go here asap!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the Giftorium in Sydney yesterday and had a ball - it really is a one stop Christmas shop! Thanks for linking up to the Ultimate Rabbit Hole.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the Build A Bear in Sydney...but I was too distracted with all the Star Wars stuff. Because I'm so mature....
