Everloc Xpressions Review - Bathroom Storage Solutions for Families and a Giveaway #SLHFeaturedThursdays

I have been on a bit of a bathroom focus these past weeks on the blog. With intentions of listing our home on the market as soon as is humanly possible and moving back inner, we've been hunting down inexpensive and portable ways to organise our everyday clutter in an attractive and practical manner that adds visual value to our home. (Which hopefully translates to an attractive sale price too!)

Last week's Featured Thursdays was all about Dreambaby's Peli - a sweet and fun way to store your child's bath time playthings that is also a plaything in its own right. (If you missed this post, you can find it here and there's a giveaway too - do check it out.)

While Peli takes good care of the kiddy clutter in this space, Everloc picks up the grown-up stuff.

ANZAC Biscuits Recipe - Plain, Simple Baking...

It's actually quite by accident that I am blogging ANZAC biscuits the same week that ANZAC Day falls.

I was hunting down a quick bake after school one day this week and oddly, when I reached to open my cook book cupboard, by pure chance, an ANZAC biscuit recipe floated down to the floor! I gave it a quick glance before realising the appropriateness of baking these right now and even publishing it on ANZAC Day itself. Just perfect!

Dreambaby Peli's Bathtub Play Pouch and a Dreambaby Giveaway #SLHFeaturedThursdays

This week, Featured Thursdays is focussed on bathroom solutions for parents who appreciate organisation, but have little hope of achieving it while they have children.

That's just about all of us isn't it?

It seems that each and every time I walk into my own bathroom since having kids, I find it in a total shambles and I'll bet it's the same at your home too.

Chocolate, Walnut and Oat Biscuits...

When I made this batch of biscuits recently, I was unsure how popular they'd be with my kids. I knew the chocolate chip factor would be well accepted; the oats? No problem, but I wasn't too sure about the inclusion of the walnuts and the little people.

Kids can be so dang fussy!

I need not have concerned myself. Just as soon as these biscuits were baked, the kids were buzzing about the kitchen like flies, waiting for the okay to taste. This opportunity did not arrive until the following day however. (I was baking for lunchboxes after all.)

I baked these right on dinnertime and it was one of those last minute, crazy ideas that once you've started you think why? WHY?!! Total, end of a school day mayhem...

SkyLanders Trap Team Review (Well, Sort Of!) #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Here's a product review for a product that barely needs reviewing at all. It's more of a post about excitement, anticipation, holiday fun and just plain happy kids really.

But then, you can see that already.

These school holidays just gone, my kids were happy recipients of a huge hamper of fun thanks to Activision.

Activision's gift was hot news around our house for a week or so prior, (thanks to their tip-off email in Mum's inbox) and every delivery card which subsequently arrived in our post box was scrutinised carefully by my team of pint-sized, noisy, wriggly little road-testers.

Docket Diaries: Adventures With Shop A Docket Chapter Four and a Vlog!

*This Docket Diaries Campaign is brought to you in collaboration with Shop A Docket.

Oh...I feel like I just started this series and getting right into it too I was and here it is, drawing to a close so soon.

I am feeling mighty sad about that.

We've had a ball on our Shop A Docket adventures thus far and this, our last post in the Docket Diaries series, has produced an equally fun and painless family outing to share this week thanks to these little coupon deals, easing our day's duties.

Our essential (and previously boring) family outings have been wonderfully pain-free and even fun since Shop A Docket was introduced to the kiddos as a bribey-sweetener. We've regularly seen eager kids rushing out the door and into the car whenever a Shop A Docket is mentioned and that has been nothing shy of Blissful!

We've road-tested Indian meals, ice creameries and Subway on our prior outings with Shop A Docket - new things that will be now, forever-more, essential things in this family's busy repertoire.

Jazslings Baby Slings Review and Giveaway #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Well my Daughter is all of two and a half years old (almost), and here we are, still breastfeeding and still baby wearing. If you'd told me three years ago when I was pregnant with her, that I'd manage to do just one of these things successfully this far into my Mothering journey with baby number six, I'd have been outright shocked...and impressed!

How could I possibly have managed to do these things for so long? I say, it's with the right equipment.

It's arguably a very basic statement I know, as we all know, in reality it depends on so many factors, but I have hit on the three necessary ones I think have led to success this time around: A willing child, a lightweight child (that I can still manage) and the earlier mentioned 'correct equipment.'

Sun, Sea and Sand Wordless Wednesdays...

The Easter holiday long weekend - how wonderful is that four day break, perfectly placed at the beginning of Autumn when the weather is still brilliant and tucked neatly into the school holidays?

So needed and so appreciated!

For me, it was time to switch off the computer, put down the mobile phone and back away from blogging for a brief but precious few days.

This Easter, we packed up and headed to our favourite Victorian holiday destination - Inverloch. (I have blogged our love affair with Melbourne's seaside playground here before.) Inverloch is close enough to make a decent day trip so if you've never been before, make sure you do sometime. You won't be disappointed.

It was absolutely perfect weather for Autumn with surprisingly warm sea breezes and even warmer sunshine which meant our long weekend was spent wearing shorts and for the kids, it also meant swimming at the beach. It was our last opportunity to do so for around six months and enjoy the freedom of all that space and perfect weather.

Luna Park Melbourne Review Plus Win a Family Pass!

Luna Park, is an historic theme park which has sat vibrantly on the shoreline of Melbourne's St Kilda beach for 100 plus years. Its iconic laughing face entrance (known as Mr Moon) set against the sea views, has witnessed the comings and goings of generations of fun seekers for decades.

Which leads me to ask - When did you last visit Luna Park?

When an email arrived in my inbox inviting us to experience Melbourne's Luna Park recently, my immediate thought was - that will be so much fun for the kids! They'd never been before and quite frankly, neither had we - since childhood.

Oricom Secure 850 Digital Video Baby Monitor Review #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Back in my clueless, first pregnancy days, I recall looking over a long list of suggested purchases for my coming baby in disbelief - surely an infant could not possibly need all that equipment suggested in magazines and baby stores? ...Surely??

Much of it seemed so excessive!

Baby monitors were, back then, on my list of items to 'question further.' They were something I needed to ask around on amongst the more experienced which led me to query baby store staff and other Mums in order to come to a final decision.

Easter Hat Parade Excitement! Wordless Wednesdays...

There's nothing quite like a primary school Easter bonnet parade!

Outside of the Christmas season, Easter is my kids' favourite time of year. Absolutely no need to explain why.

Each year at school the season is kick started with the inaugural Easter bonnet parade. While I truthfully find the whole affair a little stressful, my younger kids came home from school just so excited about the event and I knew I'd have to get in on the action whether I was willing or not.
