Moose Toys Review #SLHFeaturedThursdays

If you're a parent to kids of a certain age - little schoolies, then you'll be fairly familiar with the brand Moose when it comes to great playthings.

For as long as I've been a mama, Moose toys have been at the pinnacle of desirable must-haves for my own kids over the years. Whenever there was a cult toy on the market that was big news in the school yard, you can bet 9 times out of 10, the Moose toy label was behind the fervour. This fact led me to make up my own slogan for this brand long ago...

Moose is cool at school!

If you're looking to make an impression when it comes to choosing gifts for kids of all ages, or just wanting some time out from the pressure of bored children these holidays, then look for the Moose line.

Moose toys are always a bit different, interesting and feverishly fun for kids. (I kind of love them myself!) Trust me, I've seen many Moose crazes over the years now and these toys are always a hit.

Moose sent us out a box of great items to feature here in the lead-up to Christmas. I knew the kids would be crazy-captivated with the toys and they are certainly providing much fun around our home. If your little people received cash to spend this Christmas, I think you'll find the following review provides a great selection of quality toys to choose from, to guide their spending. Moose toys offer both value for money and entertainment.

For a long time now, my nine year old son has been the crafty one of the males in this family. He's shown a particular interest in the hand-me-downs of his big sister whenever there was a hint of making involved. As soon as Quixels were spotted under the tree this Christmas just gone, Ruben was a happy boy indeed!

Quixels are a collection of small plastic cubes which can be artfully arranged into any combination and adhered with water to make all kinds of creative fun. We like that Quixels are quite unisex which is a nice option in an otherwise girl-saturated market for similar toys. (Not that the 'girly' versions ever stopped my boys from enjoying them too.)

Inside the Quixels Design Creator box are 8 interesting design templates to get kids started as well as over 1200 Quixels cubes and instructions plus everything kids need to make countless fun designs of their own creation.

To make any design, simply arrange the cubes into the guidelines of any template and when finished, spray with the included water bottle and allow to dry. It's a great plaything and keeps the kids happy for ages. The Quixels Design Creator as featured here retails for $19.99 and we think it's great value for money and immensely entertaining for kids. (Plus boys love it.)

I've lost track now, of the number of times my kids have asked for turtles as pets over the years! Such cute little creatures and yet, the thought of owning the real thing just terrifies me. What do you do with them?! Nope, real turtle ownership just isn't for me but these adorable alternatives from Moose - the Little Live Pets, are the next best thing. My youngest kids think these are fantastic. (Check out those faces above!)

Powder the Snowy Turtle

These cute little guys run on a single AAA battery each. With the push of a button located on their underside, they come to life. Little fins start flapping just like a real turtle and they can walk on land and swim in water with their true-to-life movement. There's no need for feeding or special care so they're the perfect pets.

Starry the Magical Turtle

Sold separately, is a great Lil' Turtle Tank which is not only a good place to view the pets as if they were real, it's also a turtle toy in itself. Kids can fill the tank with water and pop their turtles onto the open lid, then watch as their walking turtle dives into the tank! The little turtles can swim about in the water or use it empty and watch as they walk on the sand-inspired interior.

Owning the turtle tank is a great way for kids to carry their pets about with them anywhere. The Little Live Pets Lil' Turtle single packs retail for $17.99 each and the Lil' Turtle Tank is $34.99. This is adorable fun for kids without the ongoing costs and care involved with the real thing!

Despite the face on my excited boy here, the next toy is a gun of sorts and yet not a gun at all. Confused? Remember I said earlier here, that Moose toys were interesting and feverishly fun? Well the Glow Show Sticker Launcher is a perfect example of Moose's innovation in the field of play.

The Glow Show Sticker Launcher is a new way for kids to decorate their bedroom walls for a fully adjustable glow-in-the-dark night sky effect. There's no damage, no hard to reach places and they're totally reusable.

Kids can select a sticker from the four large sticker sheets included and attach it to the dart that inserts into the launcher. (Not shown here.) It's then aim and shoot to send stickers all about the walls and ceiling. The stickers will glow in the dark so charge them up with plenty of light and then turn off the lights to see the magic.

The launcher has its own light beam and it also has a projector that attaches to bring the wall scenes to life. (Little rockets and the like.) Kids can collect additional sticker sheets too so that they can expand on their glow world. There are lots of different themes available like butterflies and spooks.

We're yet to use this as the kids' room is a post-Christmas apocalyptic mess (yikes!) but we can't wait to see the results when it's tidy. (On both fronts!) The Moose Glow Show Sticker Launcher is $34.99.

  2. That turtle is so cute! I love the range of stuff they offer. x #binkylinky

  3. Lovely range of moose toys! I love the Quixels, I think it's good for hand eye coordination. Great Review! #binkylinky

  4. How fun!! My two would love that turtle, I'd be powering that thing all day I could imagine. They're a little too young for the quixels and the sticker launcher (I could see things being swallowed) but I'm sure we'll have things like that knocking around the house in a few years. Great review, really detailed and lovely pictures #binkylinky

  5. I've never heard of Moose, but the toys do look good. Thanks for linking up to the #BinkyLinky

  6. These toys look so cool will be checking them out thanks for linking to the Binkylinky

  7. What a fantastic range of toys. We are just in the process of moving at short notice and with my three girls now 14, 16 & 17 it is the perfect time to donate the remaining toys in the house.

  8. The turtles look super cute! I am going to have a search around the internet and see if I can get them in UK!
