Childsmart Review - A Disney Desk Fit For a Princess! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

*Six Little Hearts is a brand rep for Childsmart.

My youngest Missy is right now well into her third year and I'd say in the last month or so, she has become a proper three year old in every sense. By that I mean full of attitude, grumpy and enormously independent. (Oh boy are there some eye-rolling times to be had with those threenagers!)

There are good bits for sure, (I adore our fluent conversations) however, most parents who have hauled themselves through this age group will agree, it's challenging to say the least!

To sail through this narky age, I have been striving to create places where my Miss can be herself and have her freedoms within the confines of our home. We succeeded nicely with our creation of a play area just for her, thanks to the introduction of our new Minnie Mouse storage shelves from Childsmart. However, there was definitely a need for an artistic area too.

I happen to have a crafty toddler. (I think most of them are.) My girl loves to draw and colour and will gravitate towards anything involving pens. For better or for worse. To date there has been a trail of destruction on my furnishings and furniture. Even our floorboards have been subjected to her artistic pursuits. Arrgh!

Desperate times call for desperate measures. It was time to introduce a desk of one's own to the toddler!

Mum's of girls in particular will understand the fascination for princesses many little girls have. I knew as soon as I spotted this Disney piece on the Childsmart website, that I was onto more than a good thing for mine.

Something pink, pretty and perfectly sized would in theory, encourage my daughter to sit and concentrate, rather than 'experiment' with her surrounds (and those markers!). This delightful desk was bound to be ideal.

Does she love it? Absolutely yes!

My daughter has taken to her desk with nothing less than glee. She has been reading, drawing and even eating at her little table and chair. It's so very cute to see and I am really happy with the quality of this piece. It's not too big at 57cm x 40cms x 50cms and the matching stool tucks away well beneath the table for storage.

The Disney Princess Desk and Stool by World's Apart is crafted in strong MDF with a glossy image of perpetual childhood favourites Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Cinderella. While the colours are vibrant and attractive, this piece is not so bright that it will appear to dominate a space like some I have seen.

Set up was easy. Just 10 minutes was all it took to have this flat-pack up and functioning for our excited toddler. The desk has a T-bolt assembly system so it is extremely simple and hard-wearing. It comes with a recommended age range of 18 months to 5 years. Really, this is just perfect for Disney-adoring little people.

The Disney desk would look adorable in a child's bedroom or playroom though we've personally found it to look fabulous in any room. It's not too heavy and can be moved around your home easily, even outside, for the very messy jobs that kids get into. The glossy surface wipes clean after every use making it a low maintenance item. It's certainly handling this one's childhood well, and yes, there's already less scribbles around my home! (In fact, NONE to mention since this little desk arrived! Yippee!)

The World's Apart Disney Princess Desk and Stool is available from the Childsmart website and is priced at $99.95. There are other matching Disney items in World's Apart range available at Childsmart to co-ordinate an ideal play space for your child. 1. She's very much 'into it.' I am really appreciating the lack of markers all over the house now too.

  8. What a fab little desk! My girls love sitting at my desk. I bet they'd love to have their very own desk! They're always sitting and drawing or writing at mine. Thanks for linking up to the #BinkyLinky

    1. Sounds like you must invest in one. Kids can really take over your life unless you get them some mini versions of your own things to claim your space back!

  11. My 4year old is firmly addicted to Disney Princesses. We have a small desk for them but they don't tend to sit at it. (Maybe it's just not the right one!) Your little girl looks very content at her little desk. So cute!
