Little kids adore Teletubbies don't they? Have you ever watched how fascinated and mesmerised young kids become when watching this popular early-learning children's series? I have always found it amusing to observe my own kids over the years as they interacted with this show. To this day, even the older ones sit open-mouthed and absorbed if they find themselves watching Teletubbies on TV!
Given that fact, I had a bit of a giggle compiling these pictures of my youngest discovering her new Teletubbies toy for this post.
My daughter was just so delighted when I gave her this new piece of Teletubbies fun to play with!
These images of her excitement remind me of the first time I ever saw Teletubbies merchandise at a store back in 2001.
I was pushing my firstborn daughter along the street (a toddler too at the time), when we spotted Po the red Teletubby, beaming at us from a children's store window. Well, we were in there in seconds and Po was purchased on the spot, ours to keep forever.
That memorable moment was our first-ever brush with the Teletubbies. What made it so memorable was that same excitement and cuteness I see displayed in these images. Kids come alive in the sweetest of ways over this show and Cuddly Po is still about our home 16 years later, having since done the rounds six times over.
To say our little Celeste is a Teletubbies fan is an understatement. She easily shows as much crazed enthusiasm as her siblings did when they too, were very little. Actually, our Teletubbies collection is quite a large one to this day and remains popular with us all regardless of age. (There was a lot of general distress when our talking Makka Pakka went missing for a year in our garage. He's been found again and is all safe and sound now.)
Not surprisingly, we were very excited to learn that Teletubbies have launched their first new toy range in almost two decades. For new little fans of the show, this is a very exciting thing indeed. (Just check out that smile!) For those of us that have been around the block a few times as parents, it's a wonderful memory-inducing event too.
Prior to now, most parents of young Teletubbies fanatics had to bid like mad on Ebay to find a coveted pre-loved toy for their little enthusiast. (Ahem...yes I have personally done this many times over the years.) Now, we can enjoy a whole new range of fun Teletubbies-themed playthings without that stress.
Just as you would expect from this popular, educational television series for very young kids, the toys in the range are crafted with exciting and interactive experiences that support the idea of learning through play. There are lots of colours, sounds and fiddly-bits for kids to discover.
We were sent the Teletubbies Pull-Along Custard Ride to try. (RRP $79.99.) This fun toy allows kids to re-create scenes from their favourite TV show. It's an adorable and inherently happy plaything in every sense.
Pull-along the Teletubbies train and see it light-up while it plays the theme music from the TV series. At the push of a button, kids can hear the engaging sounds used in the show. The cutest part of all is watching the Teletubbies themselves. As your child tows the train, the Teletubbies spin about in their little seats. There is so much detail. The Teletubbies can also be arranged in any order for towing on all kinds of imaginative adventures.
There are several great items available in the new range including talking plush Teletubbies and a Superdome play set. The Teletubbies range is priced from $10.99 and can be found at leading toy retailers around Australia. We're in love!

ReplyDeleteSinging and pretending to be Laa-Laa, I think it is safe to say that is her favourite of the bunch largely due to her having a giant orange ball and a curly antenna.

ReplyDeleteMy little miss loves Po and Po is my fave too- because he (she?) is always bumbling around doing incomprehensible things. Now that I ponder it, it seems Po is my daughter's spirit animal!

One minute I was wandering what happened to them and then next they are back. I am not complaining as my four old is enjoying them again. More tubby custard fun and I don't even mind having the theme song stuck in my head! I like Dipsy. My favourite colour is lime green and I like his hat! We have a tinky winky plush floating around the toy box somewhere. They all have cute, quirky traits.
ReplyDeleteBub is obsessed with the Teletubbies, as soon as the show comes on she runs around screaming the Teletubbies are on mummy the Teletubbies are on! She then sings the whole intro song word for word. I just asked who her favourite is and she said Laa-Laa {most likely because she has the same name as Lah Lah from Lah Lah's big live band}.
ReplyDeleteTinky Winky. His so free within himself.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful...
