DC Super Hero Girls Arrive at Target and A Wonder Woman Sleepwear Giveaway for Girls! Aussie Giveaway Linkup August

Growing up in the 1970's, I was infatuated with Wonder Woman and had my fair share of real-life sprained ankles, bumps and scrapes imitating her athletic antics to go with it. At that time, women remained an emerging force in the world, with the pursuit of equality in all aspects of life still a wobbly way off in the distance.

Back then, for myself and many other girls, Wonder Woman represented an embodiment of the strength we needed to forge many of the changes and advances we enjoy today. She was strong, intelligent, brave and confident. She had powers which gave her an impressive control over every situation that unfolded before her. She had bucket loads of attitude (plus an amazing costume) and like all good Super Hero tales, justice always prevailed in the end.

Best of all though, Wonder Woman gave us girls something to strive for. Thankfully her legacy for all women continues to flourish today. As much as things have changed since I was a child, there continues to be a need in these modern times, for female characters as strong and influential as Wonder Woman to guide our own girls' futures.

Hooray for heroines!

For today's girl, the DC Super Hero Girls introduces an exciting new universe of story-telling that seeks to empower and inspire, while aiding them to discover their true potential. Included in the range are teenaged DC Comics' icons Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quin, Bumblebee, Katana, Poison Ivy and Wonder Woman. (Plus others.) Each character has her own story, ability and power.

The DC Super Hero Girls have been developed with the 6-10 year old age group in mind and focus specifically on the Super Heroes and Super-Villains of the DC Comics world in their youth, just prior to them discovering their full powers and potential.

To help your own daughter discover her super hero potential, DC Comics have launched these Super Hero nighties and they are available exclusively at Target stores.

Our youngest daughter is already very familiar with the many shapes and forms of super heroes and villains. In a household filled with four brothers to contend with, there's been a need for a costume and specific role-model to look up to, that's relevant and relatable for her. The new DC Super Hero Girls' range provides a huge inspiration for her.

Take this outfit for example. Though it's technically a nightie, this little super hero has been wearing hers night and day, days at a time, for round-the-clock fun with her big brothers!

Swoosh!

We headed out for a little Super Hero photoshoot to showcase the fun to be had as a three year old Wonder Woman. Big bro' Taite, was all-too-willing to play the villain. (Play it well he does!)

Look out! Behind you Wonder Woman!

While they got all giggly, I just snapped away. (Got giggly myself too!)
They made some pretty-cute images together don't you think?!

This adorable little nightie is available now at Target for just $20. It's a tiny price to pay for so much fun and excitement night and day, plus all the other wonderful feelings that costumes can give-rise to, and empower within young children's minds.

Look out for the Batgirl two-piece with an eye mask at Target for double the fun, also $20.
Hurry before they're all gone! Also, visit the DC Super Hero Girls website for loads of fun and games.

    1. I agree Lisa. It seems once girls reach 5, clothing switches over to teenaged styles which is a real shame. These are great little nighties and they're standing up to a daily punishing on my girl.

  14. The kids look as though they're having an absolute ball!!! I love the DC Super Hero Girls. They are such a positive role model for the girls and I'm so pleased to see there's more out there for girls than Anna and Elsa (Bless them) and Disney Princesses. It's time this household kicked Frozen to the curb and showed Elsa what a real superhero is like!

  25. Oh what fabulous pictures! Your little girl is adorable (and your sons makes a great foe). I agree that the nightie should be worn night or day as it looks perfectly acceptable. Most of all, I love that there are more female super hero costumes available as girls love to save the world too and it's about time they were able to show the boys a thing or two!!
