Top Ten Baby Food Ideas For Your Older Baby or Toddler...

*This post is brought to you in collaboration with Heinz Infant.

Feeding babies and toddlers is something this mum of six has had plenty of experience with! Sometimes I catch myself wondering just how many times I have had to invent something from nothing to serve to a hungry babe over the years. Believe me, I know how stressful it can be to think on your feet while the chaos goes down around you.

No matter how organised you think you are as a mum, there are forever so many things happening at once and meal planning can become incredibly difficult to organise. This is especially true if you have several kids who are making constant demands on your already limited time and energy levels.

Homemade Tomato Sauce Recipe - Quick, Easy and Delicious!

With the end of the summer season just slipping-by now, it's not uncommon to find many fruit stores  selling giant crates of over-ripe tomatoes for next-to-nothing. I couldn't resist purchasing one of these boxes recently for a mere $12! There must have been around 8 kilos of bright red, delicious tomatoes inside. Happy bargain!

All parents know just how much tomato sauce kids can consume. My kids will eat ketchup daily, and with pretty-much everything too. They can easily consume a 2 litre bottle of sauce, probably weekly. Nothing beats the taste of genuine homemade sauce however and for the sake of pure enjoyment, I decided it was time to do some home canning while the opportunity presented itself.

Sleepy Beans Bean Bags Review - Beautiful Seats for Babies and Kids #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Let's talk kids and wriggling!

Little people are always on the move - no surprises there. Quite frankly it drives me crazy too, never more than when I want to flop on the sofa to relax after being busy. It seems, as soon as I sit, around they come - little wrigglers of all sizes, all vying for a prime spot next to mum. No-one has intentions of actually sitting still however and before I know it, there are little feet kicking me in the head, bodies bumping me, excessive noise and then the fighting begins.

Sometimes it's just easier to get up and go back to the housework! (Hence I always seem to be on my feet.)

Thank god for children's chairs and bean bags. Without such brilliant inventions, I don't think I'd ever get a chance to sit in peace!

Childsmart Review - A Disney Desk Fit For a Princess! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

*Six Little Hearts is a brand rep for Childsmart.

My youngest Missy is right now well into her third year and I'd say in the last month or so, she has become a proper three year old in every sense. By that I mean full of attitude, grumpy and enormously independent. (Oh boy are there some eye-rolling times to be had with those threenagers!)

There are good bits for sure, (I adore our fluent conversations) however, most parents who have hauled themselves through this age group will agree, it's challenging to say the least!

To sail through this narky age, I have been striving to create places where my Miss can be herself and have her freedoms within the confines of our home. We succeeded nicely with our creation of a play area just for her, thanks to the introduction of our new Minnie Mouse storage shelves from Childsmart. However, there was definitely a need for an artistic area too.

Do you have the post-school day rush in your kitchen too? You know the kind - the 'second breakfast' as I like to call it; there's toast, milk and a binge on the breakfast foods with good old favourites such as Weet-Bix making more than the occasional appearance on the kitchen bench.

Sanitarium Weet-Bix have been a healthy choice for Aussie breakfasts since 1920 and they're more popular these days than ever. I know we've always got them on our shopping list as our kids can't seem to get enough of them. They're trusted 'good stuff' for kids and adults alike.

Kelapa Organics Review Plus Win a Luxury Mum and Baby Hamper Worth $100! #SLHFeaturedThursdays

Becoming a parent makes you do a complete about-turn when it comes to choices. There's a huge drive to go natural in every possible way from the outset. While some of that push is financially driven, (parenthood is an expensive and decades-long costly affair), much of it is a conscious decision to improve our planet, starting in the smallest of ways, for the sake of our littlest people.

I am a 'natural' devotee in many ways these days. It's no longer an extraordinary thing to demand the purest available. It's something so many of us want, whether we're parents or not and that's a fabulous shift for our precious planet.

Lemon Slice Recipe - A Simple and Delicious Treat to Bake

How good is a great lemon slice? Lemon anything is something I naturally gravitate towards, whenever there's a café, high tea or other event on the cards. I think the same can be said for most people.

I am always hunting down fabulous lemon recipes for any meal. This particular slice is an old favourite from one of my many recipe files. It works every time and is quick and simple too. If you have a kitchen mixer, then this bake is even easier. This is a must-try!
