Babymel Zip and Zoe Backpacks and Accessories for Kids Review and A Back to School Giveaway

If you go down to the woods today...
Make sure you take-along your Babymel Zip and Zoe backpacks!

Lovely stuff for kids is infinite these days. We therefore consider ourselves to be lucky to be given the opportunity to experience the fun colourful designs and expert functionality, inherent within the very latest range of backpacks and accessories for kids, from the qualified team at Babymel.

Babymel have already carved a name for themselves via their established range of trendy baby bags, designed specifically for selective mamas. (We've even featured some of their stylish designs on the blog previously. See our review of the Grace bag here and the Cara baby bag here.)

Now youngsters can join in the carrying fun too, with a super-stylish, fun array of travel and everyday luggage designed especially with their needs in mind.

The new Babymel Zip and Zoe range offers fashion-forward kids a chance to step out with loads of unique style.

This stunning lineup of backpacks and kids' accessories feature the amazing design talents of New York artist Matthew Langille. Zip and Zoe are the signature monikers given to his two original characters, whose playful style and vibrant adventures grace this entire Babymel range for children.

From backpacks of all sizes, to extras such as lunch bags, there's something intrinsically joyful about this gear, to capture the adoring attention of every kid (and grownup!).

Babymel Zip and Zoe kid's backpack in Rainbow Multi.
Each backpack comes with a coordinating Zip and Zoe key ring.

Our two youngest kids have been happily tootling-about with their Babymel Zip and Zoe backpacks for much of their summer break. These gorgeous bags have been safely carting their essentials on our various outings and adventures. (A bonus perk which has been well-received by us parents, given there's been less to carry all-round!)

These backpacks must be comfortable, for our kids have never tried to off-load them onto us, even once, whenever we've been out!

From a grown-up's point of view, the Zip and Zoe range offers exceptional quality.

The Zip and Zoe Rainbow Multi backpack featured, is a bag designed for kids aged from three plus. This backpack is constructed from a durable, tightly-woven fabric, and is designed to withstand the everyday actions of carefree kids. There's lightweight padding built into each bag's construction to keep kids comfortable. Likewise, the finish and detailing is impeccable and stylish.

Within these bags is one main compartment that will comfortably accommodate books and school or kinder necessities. There is also one large Velcro pocket on the back wall for storing important items such as school notices. Even a tablet PC fits into this space! The linings inside Zip and Zoe backpacks are bright and cheerful and there is a place to record your child's details in case their bag gets lost. On the exterior of the bags in this range, you'll find one silver-lined, small zippered pocket which is perfect for bus passes and the like.

Quality webbing protects all the strain points, as well as adjustable padded shoulder straps.
Kids are happy and comfortable wearing Zip and Zoe backpacks. (Trust me on this!)

The range of Zip and Zoe backpacks available is quite extensive, with a variety of themes on offer to please all tastes and interests.

Our son opted for this Spaceman backpack. (This is the same size as the Rainbow Multi backpack pictured earlier, as shown on an eight year old.) This is an ideal day pack with plenty of room for an upright drink bottle, snacks, books and whatever it is that your child likes to tote about.
Our son loves his bag!

All backpacks feature chest straps for stability and security.

Babymel's Zip and Zoe collection has kids covered for snack time too, with an array of matching lunch bags and even drink bottles.

These fun lunch bags are crafted from the same high quality materials that feature in their backpacks. They have a padded and lined interior, and each lunch bag comes with its own matching ice pack. The lunch bags even have a handy snap-on clip for attaching to its co-ordinating backpack (or a stroller) for quick and easy portability.

For even younger kids, (or those seeking a smaller backpack for their child), the Zip and Zoe collection even has a range of Mini Backpacks designed specifically with the 1-4 year age bracket in mind. The beauty of these; they come with detachable reins / safety harness, for those times when your little one wants to explore on their own.

Babymel's Zip and Zoe, 9 litre backpacks are priced at RRP $34.99 each and are well-sized to fit most standard school books for primary aged children. Mini backpacks are $29.99 each and the matching lunch bags are priced at $19.99 a piece. Importantly, everything within the range is machine washable in cold water, offering peace of mind too.

  5. Oh man, these are so cool! I love how colourful the designs are, and they look like they would hold heaps of stuff without actually being too big for small people! I really wish I had heard about these bags before we went shopping for Punky's new school bag, I definitely would have gotten one of these. Oh well, hopefully I can win one and then Zee can have the other one we bought, lol!

  8. I keep forgetting that backpacks are such an ingenious way of getting kids to (willingly) carry their own things around, haha; it will definitely lighten the load on this mumma's back! These Babymel backpacks look so adorable, and the design is incredibly well thought out too. Would absolutely love a Navy Colour Block for my little one :)

  26. The snap on clip! Means the lunchbox stays with the backpack and no more sending them with a plastic woolies bag the next day and instructions to bring it back from school! (which you know will take 3 days to sink in).

  28. My daughter would be using her all over australia when we head off for our big lap. So convenient to pack her own little bag with her lunch.. especially because she's miss independent now and loves everything in a bag she can carry. Tiffany Hogan

  29. Two words - "Machine Washable". This is brilliant! I am so slack when it comes to hand washing and backpacks get dirty and whiffy quite quickly at school! Love the fact that I can throw these in the washing machine at the end of each term for a freshen up!

  30. I adore the size. Its so hard to find backpacks for smaller children starting primary school. I swear I have a picture of my daughter starting school years ago and all you can see is this head and legs from the mid thigh down....it was hysterical, but also bad for their little backs. Tess Howard

Thanks for demonstrating the inside of the lunch snack bag too. I love that they clip onto the bag to avoid loosing another lunchbox.
