Lonely Planet Kids New Book Releases. Win 1 of 2 Book Packs Worth $105! Plus The May Aussie Giveaway Linkup

Whether you have travel plans on the horizon or not, Lonely Planet Kids publishers have educational books of all kinds to excite and entertain readers of all ages. Some of our kids' favourite reads and activity books are by Lonely Planet Kids, and we always look forward to new releases to share with our readers.

New releases for March and April offer a collection of fantastic books for kids and the whole family.

These three First Words language titles will be featured in a giveaway on the Six Little Hearts Facebook page shortly!

Check out these newest titles in the Lonely Planet Kids First Words series.

I am so pleased that our household has a growing collection of these First Words books because when it comes to learning languages, the presentation of these easy reads, makes learning a language incredibly simple and fun.

The three new titles from the First Words series are: First Words: Italian, First Words: Japanese and First Words: Mandarin. Each book features striking illustrations to accompany 100 travel-relevant words, appearing across an illustrated double page spread. There is also a guide to basic pronunciation. A quick flick though each book will have you speaking and understanding each language in no time.

Furthermore, readers can access the free audio pronunciation guide by scanning the QR code on each book's back cover, to listen and learn further. Visit the Lonely Planet Kids' First Words website to hear each printed word listed, spoken clearly by a child from every country featured in the series.

You can read our previous review of earlier titles in the Lonely Planet Kids First Words series by visiting our post here. First Words: Japanese, Italian and Mandarin titles are priced at RRP $19.99 and each contain 208 pages in a flexibound format that's perfect for travelling.
Not just for kids - ideal for adult travellers too!

For children aged 5-8, try the new Brain Teasers book for challenging fun. This book is filled with riddles, codes, and morse code, word searches, number and logic puzzles. There are bold and bright illustrations throughout, plus plenty to keep the whole family entertained on a trip of any length.
RRP $14.99, 160 pages.

My Holiday Drawing Book is one of my personal favourites. I am eyeing this one off as a potential entertainment for myself on the plane when I holiday in London shortly - that is, if I can pry it out of my kids' fingers!

This is a fantastic hardcover book with 40 pages of artistic pursuits to keep kids busy. Learn how to draw people and characters. Get a grasp on perspective and doodle-away with the interesting and fun suggestions within, for hours. I can't imagine any child not enjoying this one! This book is RRP $14.99.

Some of the fun to be had inside My Holiday Drawing Book.

Activity-filled, 'suitcase-stuffers' are essential to keep kids happy when travelling, and the super My Holiday Scrapbook (RRP $14.99) and assorted titles in the My Family Travel Map range, (RRP $19.99), are ideal travel companions. These activity-filled books and maps are designed to keep kids interested and learning while travelling, and will be great reminders to reflect on, once home again.

Each My Family Travel Map book opens out to reveal a giant, detailed destination map which encourages kids aged 8-12 to decorate and record their family travels. There are fun facts included about each continent covered, plus stickers to embellish.

Keep travel memories alive in the My Holiday Scrapbook, where kids can store travel souvenirs such as tickets and photos.
